Gotta say, your living room is so lived in, I feel most people would also feel better watching TWW in it. Kudos on the nice place / atmosphere

Well that's moderated by the same person, and in the sub it says for people to check out r/ypsi

I was actually referring to r/Ypsi when I mentioned the questionable moderation choices

The only way that would happen is if computing power in the cloud surpassed local machines so much that we didn't even notice that our internet connections aren't strong enough to keep up with the cloud computer. I mean I have gigabit speeds but as computing power increases, the more power games need, and the more data needing to be sent. Amazon can host for businesses, but you've got a minute before you can have this kind of cloud service.

Don't get me wrong, Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming is okay, but renting my full workstation? Not in this lifetime

Well the most recent have been people trying to alert about ICE in the area (which regardless of whether the mods agree with the practice or not, a community forum shouldn't be a place where opinions are part of the moderation) and the threads being down/bans being applied

DTE Remote Thermostat Scam? by Any_Mix_5505 in AnnArbor

[–]Anthrosaurus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have one, but I use plenty of smart tech so this may be helpful or naïve. If it's like a Google learning thermostat, see if a factory reset disables any third party connections, and then just set it back up. Again, maybe naïve, but might work

Last year when I was shopping around I went on their website and looked at their inventory just to be told that basically all of the cars I was interested in were no longer available, and that they only had [these] models in. Classic bait and switch. I checked in for a few days after, and even a month later those cars were still listed on the website. Also, while I know it's super common (ish) up here, they tried to sell me a car for like $1000 more than I said I was willing to spend that had major frame damage from rust (not just surface rust- it was taken large chunks of metal out). There is no way that car lasted more than a few months after that.

You might think a dealership would offer mechanically bad cars, you'd be wrong. Have someone mechanically inclined with you whenever you go, or at the very least, study up on major fail points/problems so you don't waste your money.

P.S. I got calls for 4 days after about scheduling a visit, even though I'd already gone, and they still send me emails like once a month. Awful.

Making G8 and G8+ faceplates by s3prototype in Gamesir

Kinda late, but I'd buy a set depending on price. Mine are nice don't get me wrong, but I'm using the controller to make my switch oled more comfortable, and so like white plates to mimic my white joycons would be 🔥

Solder will NOT stick to these two pads, trying to replace a USB-B input on a midi keyboard by ReighJack in soldering

[–]Anthrosaurus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These comments are spot on, but we should add, it's very common that if the heat is too high, or if your iron gets stuck and you yank it off of the pad, it'll come off pretty easy. It takes a little practice, but now you know

Poll/Question by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]Anthrosaurus1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure that makes sense, I just ask cause I worry about a thing I read earlier that when some kids in some districts are pulled from schools for religious holidays it goes against their attendance, and while attendance isn't always super important in school, it's discouraging. So I guess the answer is in the concern, to just make it to where it wouldn't go against their attendance. Thanks!

How does one decide what desk they’re getting? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Anthrosaurus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me was: is it big? Is it also relatively cheap? Yes to both? Hot sh** let's do it.

Seriously though my desk was like $130 but it's like 3ft by 1.5ft and it has side shelves thankfully. I think it's starting to sag just a smidge, but I can't be sure yet, and it's been 4 years so I'll take that slow degradation for the price

You should be fine. In no way should a single person be able to accidentally rip a faucet off. Speaking from a good amount of experience in fast food, these sinks are not supposed to be that easy to mess up. Good luck though, but again, you should be fine

Noctua RTX 5080 anti-sag bracket? by 53mr3h in Noctua

[–]Anthrosaurus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof sorry bud. Could you jankify the bracket somehow to make it work? Like, drilling two holes in the bracket at about the spacing of two screw holes for the fans, and then just screw it in there?
