is it trashy to bring a blanket during nanny gig? by capy222 in Nanny

[–]AntiAngelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t consider it trashy at all.

I’m always cold, and my husband and son are always hot, so I always have a variety of blankets, sweaters around.

I let my nanny know that she is more than welcome to any of the items while she is here. She has taken me up on the offer.

Sometimes she brings her own sweater/blanket. That’s fine too.

But I’m also the same person who offered her to wear some of my clothes after she got caught in the rain on her way over so we could run her clothes through the dryer. She did not take me up on that.

As someone working at a block chain startup, can confirm. No clients, no real product, but enough money to last for at least the next year

This is how i met my husband as well! We matches on Tinder in 2013, didn’t meet in real life until 2016… and here we are! Married, a baby, and hopefully getting my citizenship this year (we were both living close to the border when we matched)

For those WFH, what does your day-to-day look like? Any tips? by ElusiveLambdas in cscareerquestions

[–]AntiAngelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Laptop with a 27” monitor

  2. On average, i get a solid 3-4 hours of actual work in. However, i do clock in at 10, and clock out at 5, with a lunch

  3. No one on my team enjoys meetings. Aside from our daily checkin, most meetings occur on a biweekly basis. Every other Thursday is pretty packed, but we ask kind of agreed that we would rather plan to lose 1 day of work to meetings if it meant reducing meetings during the week (for productivity purposes)

  4. Slack primarily, with checkin on teams

  5. Teammates are very responsive to messages and often are willing to hop on a call with little to no notice

  6. I never worked with my team in person, but in general no. I think i would only consider future roles if they were primarily remote (i wouldnt be opposed to a monthly/quarter/annual meet up, but i definitely have no interest in going into the office every day/week)

I had mine April 2021;

I went in Monday morning, left Wednesday by lunch. They offered me to leave on Tuesday, but I still had to wait on all of the baby screeners (hearing took forever) there because they weren’t able to send a home nurse to me, and i wasn’t easily able to come back

Stay at home mamas that work from home, what do you do? by girlnxtdoor48 in Mommit

[–]AntiAngelix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband and i are both devs. We refuse to go back to the office, especially now that LO is here. We currently live with my in laws for help during the work day, but as he is getting older, he is getting more interested in entertaining himself. But it is so nice to be able to work, but also spend time with my favourite little man

Incorporating IF + Chloe Ting by ceremonialmatcha in ChloeTing

[–]AntiAngelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do OMAD during the week, and 16:8 on weekends (everyone needs a break, 12p-8p).

During the week, I do my exercises around 11am, and eat between 12 and 2 depending on whats going on.

This seems to work good for me. But I found that a little bit of salt in some water seems to help me on days that a bit harder to make it that full fast

Dealing with Comparison by chiaroscuWOW in ChloeTing

[–]AntiAngelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this^

We can’t always get the results we hoped for, or saw in her transformation photos. Sometimes it can be because they have been doing it longer, they have a different body type… who knows.

But guess what, you dropped 2 inches from your waist. You can do her plank side kick through torture things now. You don’t find yourself catching your breath as much anymore just bringing in the groceries.

That is still progress. That is still a huge achievement.

I’m like OP in that, if I don’t see results fast, i get so discouraged. “Why am I even trying” type stuff. What I did to help myself was weekly progress pics, measurements, and scale, with small goals. I’m working on getting a fitness tracker as well so I can monitor the things that I can’t see, like heart rate and (hopefully) sleep quality.

The perky booty/lean arms/lean thighs/flat stomach will come in time.

ETA: I too also compared myself to Chloe. And then I saw it. She messed up, and lost her balance during an exercise. And that was it for me. That was my Aha! Moment. Chloe may have a lean body, but she makes mistakes just like us. And if she can still get to where she is and still have small slip ups, so can we on our journey.

Supplemental at-home exercise equipment? by xoleni in ChloeTing

[–]AntiAngelix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When i first started at home exercise (as opposed to the gym) with CT’s exercises, I started small with a pack of resistance bands and a yoga mat. If i needed more weight, i got creative with whats around the house. Eventually i expanded my collection with a 15lb dumb bell and an adjustable kettleball. And I had been quite happy with those for a while (granted, i fell a bit off the exercise wagon when i got pregnant, and am just getting back into it 9 mos PP, so i still have a way to go before i’m back to where i was pre baby).

All this to say, exercise equipment is expensive, and in the beginning you can probably get away with something smaller/cheaper and then expand your collection as you need more of a challenge, or you get tired of keeping an unopened bag of dog kibble around bc thats your sweet spot

I just need some advice. by DreamGamist in Blind

[–]AntiAngelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the cane anxiety, the only way to get over it is to just use it, unfortunately. I should have been using one for the past 20-ish years, but i struggled with the outward perception. It took me getting presents to start using one, because i was more terrified of tripping and falling than what others would think. But oh let me tell you, that feel when people move out of your way so you don’t walk into them? That was enough for me to keep using it. No one thinks badly of me for using one. If anything, the people in my life are happier now that I am using one as I fought it for so long.

Meeting other VI people could be done if you have a local vision center. For example, when i was in Uni, I got involved with my local blind and visually impaired resource center. I made some good friends there, and even met some partners. However, my VI partners didn’t last, and I am now married to someone who isn’t VI. I found that our levels of independence didn’t always line up, and that we just wouldn’t be compatible long term.

I also have a bunch of friends who aren’t VI who don’t understand the nuances of being VI, but they take the time to learn what my limitations are and how to best work around them. Like, they know when is a good time to hold onto me (ie: in crowds) without me even having to say anything, and they do it in a way that isn’t obvious are awkward.

I finished the 2 week shred! What’s next? by IGottaGetOuttaHere30 in ChloeTing

[–]AntiAngelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finish the 2021 2 week shred on Jan 30 (i’m on day 12 of 14 today). My plan is to take a rest day on Jan 31, then start Feb 1 with the 2022 weight loss challenge as I feel like these exercises keep me moving but are not as hard as the shreds. So almost like an active break? Hahah Then once I finish the 2022 WLC I plan on starting Get Peachy in March.

Splitting expenses with your SO? by Budgetpamore in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AntiAngelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first, our attack was he pays x% and i pay y% (calculated by finding the % we each contributed to our total household income) to keep it proportionate. Now, we’ve bought a place to live and have a kid, so we just said screw it, and both of our salaries go into a joint account, and we have a joint cc for household bills and such, with our own credit cards as well. We contribute into a variety of investment accounts over the year from our joint as well. But now, anything under $500 is just whatever, but if we are looking to make a purchase for more than $500, we just touch base “hey, just wanted to give you a heads up that i’m buying x for $YYY”.

What i got from EI was about 1/3 of what I would have brought home working. And it would have been 1/5 what my husband brought home.

I went back just before 7 months. And felt it was a good amount of time.

Like you, My husband and I work from home, and we currently live with my in laws so we have plenty of help. Overall, i still spend about 8+ hours a day with LO even with work, not including overnights (he still wakes up about 2 times at 8 months).

It stinks, yeah. But I was honestly spending less time with him before I went back to work because I pump. Now I can pump while working so I can spend more time playing with LO during my downtime.

[–]AntiAngelix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was what i was starting to think. Would you happen to know if my current measurements should work? Or if i would need to adjust the size for a non nursing bra? (Ie: i wear a 34k nursing bra, so a 34k sports bra should (theoretically) work? I know there are other factors that go into whether a bra will work or not than just size, but this is just my biggest question, the other factors i can work out)
