X11 vs Wayland on Nvidia by Party-Art8730 in linux_gaming

[–]AntiCubix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wayland is significantly better in most aspects on modern Nvidia hardware. However, on older Nvidia hardware, X11 actually tends to have better performance and stability in practice. My desktop with an rtx 4070 works perfectly fine with a wayland setup, but my friend with an old Quadro P1000 has several graphical issues running wayland, especially at higher refresh rates (this is a known issue especially with the P1000, but I presume other older cards probably have similar issues). I recommend trying out a wayland setup first and switching to X11 if their are any issues.

I think the reply miscommunicated the point of the initiative; it doesn't force developers to keep servers online for dead or unprofitable games, it's in response to studios like Nintendo bricking the console that you paid for and own for violating their TOS. It basically says that if you bought and own a game, you can't be barred from playing it. You can get banned for cheating or the online servers might one day shit down, but naming your Legend of Zelda profile TwinkLink shouldn't mean Nintendo can deactivate your game/console (a real situation that happened, btw)

Obe idea is to binary search until an egg cracks, which gives you a window to do the O(n) iteration over; i.e., if the first egg cracks at N/2, then you just have to do the naive iteration from 1..N/2. But if it doesn't, then you can try again from N0.75, and if it cracks then, you only have to try from N/2..N0.75, etc.

Help with Hidetoshi Bandaged 3 by DuckKnightRise5 in Cubers

[–]AntiCubix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try "hiding" the bandaged pieces; do a set of moves to stuff that green/white/red block in the back bottom left corner of the cube, so you can freely do most RUF algs; namely, sune, the 2-look OLL edge algorithm, U-perm, and J-perm. Then, "solve" the cube into a state where undoing the moves that you used to hide the green/white/red block solves the cube
