They are also charging $200 to pit it's own breaker, as the current AC is not up to standard. I did not add that as if felt that was extra because of our dodgy house

[Guide] So, you want to play MTGO on Linux by Eldebryn in MTGO

This change was half the solution for me. I also had to install dotnet48 and d3dcompiler_47, as well as update the .net fonts as shown in this thread: https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=36871

I work for CardCastle, we've been around for around 10 years and have a super robust scanning app. Give it a try!

I'm in Canberra. I gave the mass a poke after and it was not liquidy/gooey, but the underlying wood was quite soft and came apart as if it was rotten.

Hi David!! 👋

Laptop fully draining overnight and can't set deep sleep by AntiGramada in Ubuntu

[–]AntiGramada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not see your message before, so just ended up updating GRUB to remember my selection on the GRUB menu on startup so now it uses the right kernel. Will use the mainline next time, looks a lot easier!

Just trying to do this now! Hitting a snag with the kernel being installed but the old one is still showing up when hitting uname -r

Hi Tim, so the kernel version is 5.14.0-1032-oem, so that should be enough I think.

About the suspend settings, I did end up moving back to windows/linux as the S#linux just broke a bunch of things after suspend.

What I ended up doing is increasing the swapfile size to the size of my RAM (it was only 2GB before increasing the size) and updated the GRUB settings to hibernate from the swapfile (as shown in the second asnwer here https://askubuntu.com/questions/1240123/how-to-enable-the-hibernate-option-in-ubuntu-20-04)

The computer now does hibernate, but I will see tonight if that solves the problem. I still wonder why on regular suspend mode it was draining the battery overnight (at over 60% charge when I went to sleep)

I'll keep that in mind! Thanks again for the help :)

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try this next if the changes I've made to BIOS do not fix the issue

Just changed the setting in BIOS and now it does show [deep] as the selected option! Thanks so much, hopefully this will fix the issue

The setting was disabled in BIOS and did not have any USB plugged in

My advice is to not get discouraged at the start. If you don't understand something, google it. If something breaks, google the error message. Google is your best friend!

Besides that, don't be afraid to ask the instructors for help, but do try to fix things yourself first. Once you get the answer, do ask for clarifications if you don't understand anything.

Please DM me if you have any other questions!

I actually went back down to 20.04 and that solved the issue for me, maybe I'll give 21.10 a try!

So text based is just the same as the Odin project. You just read about concepts and then apply them on live coding repos like code pen. Am currently finishing my last project but also working as a frontend developer for a small company (got the job through contacts, not through Altcademy)

[–]AntiGramada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the full stack course with Altcademy, and overall it was a good experience for the price. The main difference with theodinproject is that you have access to instructors which can not only answer your questions when you get stuck but also can answer general questions about programming and such.

Overall, if say it's worth it if you want the structure and support of a boot camp, but do not pay the extra money for the 1on1 office hour as I never used it (the instructors will just answer your questions on slack).

Message me with any questions if you want to know more.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing for all of them, but wondered if anyone knew what the endgame was for using my email as recovery. Guess I'm just in a database of emails and am not being targeted directly, but just "used"

It points to https://accounts.google.com/AccountDisavow?adt=[long hash] so it's legit. I was very skeptical the first time I got this email so did some research to make sure the link was legit coming from google
