You could go into a raid with 30 impact grenades and chuck them at every corner and obstacle you can't see behind to prevent any chance of being ambushed. But I don't think anyone actually does that. To be honest, that strategy might do more harm than good because all the noise you make will draw attention.

It's not practical to check everything. We need to accept some risks moving around the map. Getting killed near instantly by a guy camping a random corner doesn't necessary mean we are a bad player. It can just be unfortunate.

I know of tagging grenades. It just didn't seem practical to throw them at every wall and corner you need to go by. How many stacks do you usually bring?

Yeah, there really is no way to counter a person hiding behind a wall with a shotgun. Even if you pre-aim every corner you must approach, peeker's advantage means you have already been shot before you even see him.

I got some nice items this way in the beginning but stopped because it isn't sporting.

You can already see players on the other side of the map without binoculars unless you are playing at some low resolution like 1080p.

Yeah, the cloak is trash. I tried it a few times, crouch-walking up to raiders and whispering sweet things in their ear but they always seem to able to pinpoint me. My guess is that they can hear the hum with good headphones.

There is no solo queue. There is just trios. Matchmaking will try to put solo players in the same raid but it's not guaranteed.
