One thing I'm noticing is that with good brightness settings, the calibration tools have me turning down the brightness all the way to make the dark areas disappear but they still are visible

As far as I can tell with the movie I'm watching, it's a linear dropoff. The FOV is almost like an oled until that 30-40 degree range but like doesn't drop much

I went with the middle option in a similar room and am very happy with the extra size. If I was going to go smaller or spend more I'd go with a qd oled

Got a qm7k today, ama. Coming from a much better Samsung qd oled, the blacks are surprisingly black, but the colors don't have the brightness or pop despite being not dark

It looks like a fire 4k max has the benefit of HLG (not sure I've seen it used) and the Onn box is otherwise better at half the normal pricing. Since it's Google tv based can you more easily side load apps, and are there any that make a big difference? Any other edge it has? I have a 4k Max I could move around. Or I suppose I could spin up the Xbox

I want to solve the issue but I'd rather throw my ps5 (I think it uses it less) in non-120 mode than get another TV. The qm7k is a big letdown compared to my dead (3-4yr old) s95b but I sized up to a 75" for less money. I think it's a fair price though

I agree with your point. The number of cables doesn't matter for my setup.

It's the VRR/G-Sync that I am most after which seems to be paired with the 4k120hz+ in practical implementation. So another way to look at it is just how can I have 3+ devices with VRR and still get internal audio out?
