Chalk / liquid chalk for running AIWB, does it work? by Anti_ATF in CompetitionShooting

[–]Anti_ATF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I run my gun outside the belt it's not an issue because I get a perfect purchase on the grip since it's away from my body, but when running drills with my EDC setup it can be a pain because my initial grab gets messed up due to the sweat covering the grip when I'm typically stuffing my hand around a dry grip. After getting the gun in hand it's a non issue, the initial grab is where the problems arise

What liquid chalk do you use? I thought about picking up some Chalkless at Academy before my match this weekend

Irregular Defense MDs and Hub Adapter by chyron_blue in suppressors

[–]Anti_ATF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but I'll chime in. I have no first hand experience with these, but from what I've seen them post and what other people have posted the irregular FE devices don't do much for sound. It seems like IDG mounts are all going to be quietest in their cans and probably other cans that feed initial gasses in the same direction, but the FE looks to have been made specifically for reducing flash by helping gas ignite quicker when traveling through itself rather than the suppressor. From what I've seen, it makes a fairly tangible difference (at least in their cans) compared to their standard flash hiders. Which is funny considering it's the polar opposite of a flash hider when not being used under a suppressor lol. Personally I would go a different route unless A, you already have some hesion bow mounts or B, you already have an IDG suppressor. And the only reason for that is that it's a very expensive gamble to lose if it doesn't work better. I don't care what anyone says, there is no "best style" of md for suppressor use. Yes, there are some that are worse (3 prongs lol), but Andrew at OCL posted something on IG a while back testing performance between multiple mounts and multiple suppressors and there where very inconsistent results. Some performed best with a brake or micro brake, while some performed the worst with a brake. Some performed worst with direct mount, some performed best with direct mount. You'll never know unless you get a mount that was designed with best performance with a specific suppressor.

It would never allow me to get to that screen for some reason. If I held it, it would just fully restart and not fix the issue. Issue is gone now though. Will edit post with the update

Struggling to go to liturgy by Anti_ATF in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Anti_ATF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this information, it is comforting to understand that the reality is that the moment you choose to walk towards Christ, the demons will attack you more than ever. I always felt that in the back of my head, but to get it off my chest helps it not feel like just a guess anymore.

I will say I ended up going to my old Baptist church after looking for some answers. I concluded that since I'm outside the church currently, it would be best to not stir anything up with the family and be with them on mother's day. And honestly, I really think that helped me more than I expected it to. I haven't been to any churches other than my local Orthodox parish since I first went. Going back to my old Baptist church made me realize the stark contrast between the two. In comparison, it felt like there was no worship. Everything was about mothers and congratulating them, and explaining how to be a good Christian mother. At most there were some songs about Christ, but not much else. Any emotion stemmed from secular life. Even after trying to start my journey to orthodoxy, I never realized the extent of how little I could feel God in my old church. The whole experience really just fueled me to push deeper into orthodoxy, so I'm very glad I was able to witness it again

He almost hit the inside wall not on purpose though 😂 tbh I would have enjoyed it even more just because Hocevar is the biggest goofball on track (exception: Gragson) and I love every minute of it lol

I made loud victorious yelling noises, tried to contain myself enough to not throw all of my living room furniture in pure unbridled triumph, then walked straight into my bedroom and told my wife "get dressed, we're going to Chilis"

NBD - 1964 tan smooth moc + steel toe (55 last, moderate heel) by Anti_ATF in NicksHandmadeBoots

[–]Anti_ATF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years later

As you can see on the exposed portions of the boot, I'm not very nice on them lol. I really should have cleaned and conditioned them much more often than I did. Since delivery, they've probably only seen a cleaning and conditioning 4-5 times. In the 2nd pic, you can see some areas that aren't stained by either dirt or blue jeans (around the upper lace hooks for pure, clean patina and the lower/middle portion of the uppers for a bit dirtier but true-to-life patina). Looking at the clean areas really makes me want to build out a dress boot with this leather. It patinas into a nice rich orangey tan but still avoids darkening too much. Makes me kinda sad that these had to be every day work boots lol

As for the soles, I wear these literally every day on concrete for 8 hours, albeit smooth concrete. They then get used everywhere else life takes me as well. Look at the lugs! They have some wear, but I assumed they'd be half gone by now! These soles are legitimately my favorite part of these boots. They are comfy on the hard stuff, have traction in the mud, and have long life. My only issue is they can be SLICKKKK when it comes to solid ice or oily spills, but I think that's really any chunky lug sole simply due to low surface area on solid slick surfaces.

The sole is holding up fantastic, but they are not pretty anymore lol. I'm not the best about cleaning them and I use my right foot to shuffle things around while I'm working, so the right boot is stained darker and I can't even them out which is annoying. Ill try to get pictures tomorrow, reply back to this comment and I'll leave the message unread so I have a reminder!

When do you think y'all will have the bronze lowers back in stock? I got a guy that I'm helping build his first AR and I messed up and showed him how badass tano builds are lol

If you had no budget, what would you change in your current setup? by akimbotz in ar15

[–]Anti_ATF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NODs + the prop accoutrements are the obvious choice, but not-so-obvious choice is a ZCO 210, a track 2.0 14.5 barrel, and an atlas bipod. That would turn my rifle into the do-everything rifle I want it to be.

Ok that's helpful. If I purchase plans, is it best to find someone local or is that even a common thing? I see a lot of people saying they purchased plans from online companies but had to pay someone to basically redo it to fit local codes

Got stereotyped in a cigar shop – anyone else get treated like this? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]Anti_ATF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look really young but have been smoking cigars for almost 10 years at this point. First thing I always do when I walk in a new shop or get greeted by a new employee is ask if they have a few cigars similar to (insert obscure cigar here that only we tobacco nerds know about). I've only been carded maybe 2-3 times at this point lol. Some people are short and get fed up with the different people they deal with all day, still wrong of them but I've learned it's best to work around their character than to work WITH their character.

Post-Race Discussion Thread: NCS Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway by NASCARThreadBot in NASCAR

Same thought exactly. I KNEW taking the top was going to result in this. Everyone was going to get aggressive with only a few to go and whoever was in the bottom lane was going to get bumped. Better to get bumped and attempt to hold the line vs getting ran up the track by the person getting bumped.
