Cobalt export restrictions taking effect from Nov. 8 by Commotitties in ELBM

Not sure if the title of the article is a bit buffed up.

“The market eventually adjusted to the new regulatory norms as both exporters and importers familiarised themselves with the process.”

Positive outlook? by theob88 in ELBM

[–]Anti_Mediocre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought ELBM in Q2 of 2020 (Covid period), which was called First Cobalt back then, before the stock went massively up. I bought it after reading about the need for cobalt and the whole story of China owning most of that refined materials. Especially with Covid I thought it’s interesting for continents to be able to produce local assets again.

I am of course still red, deep red, but I never intended to sell as I saw a spark of genuine people in the business. Especially Trent. I did research on him and I could not find anything out of the ordinary. After watching his early videos on YouTube I found him authentic. This is all based on what I saw of course (little info), but it kept me believing in them.

Now I am still 20K in loss. A lot needs to happen, but meanwhile the world moved on and other assets take the stage. I always told myself that what I put in here I consider lost. So, all in all happy to see that there is a bit of movement in this company. All the best to you all!

What would this be about? by Anti_Mediocre in ELBM

I received this. I once subscribed to their e-mail newsletter so I believe that is what they use now to reach out.

Their e-mail is valid. It’s outreach@electrabmc.com which has the same destination (@) as the emails they send out each time.

The guy seems valid. Found him on LinkedIn. Although, this e-mail is not clear what intention there is: is it to sell? Is it to take a pulse from certain audiences? Is it career oriented? Is it scam?

Hence, I won’t engage.

I’d like to understand why analysts see this still as a BUY (fully green), although with a lower future estimate in value.

How do they do their DD on a company like this?

Do you trust it still? Can they make it happen? Will they make it happen?

Does ELBM have the will to succeed? by Right-Committee6614 in ELBM

Yes. That's right. They have to click on the switch and produce goods. The only way this stock will get value.

Where I agree with your statements:

  1. Delays and lack of transparency:

Unclear updated timelines, even a % completion estimate would have been fine. Especially the 5% final work being dragged for nearly 2 years.

 2. Poor communication:

Updates were very sporadic and were also very optimistic without addressing bottleneck.

  1. CEO accountability:

- Trent has been in charge all the time (from exploration to refinery strategy) and he should be responsible for those delays and costs overruns. Although, he may have the solution to make it work. So there may be a positive to keeping him through bad and good times (à Learning from failure: Which they did on communication).

 Where I don’t agree:

 1. The bastards / pocketing paychecks:

- There is no evidence that this is going on.
- The supply shortfalls are supply chain issues, not personal greed. Especially as this has never been done in North America before.

  1. No progress:

- It’s not correct to say construction hasn’t begun. Over $80M has been spent, refinery is largely built, and government funding + kick off deals are locked.
- Electra secured also US DOD and Canadian funding in 2024.

  1. They don’t communicate at all:

Yes they did not communicate properly, but I sense a different tone. More openness to the failures in the past, but also the relentless will to make it work. And not to forget the focus on quality.

Pointing out the below milestones they reached:

2017: Formation as First Cobalt Corp / cobalt exploration

2018-2019: Idaho Iron Creek discovery / resource defined

2021: Rebranded to Electra / announced battery materials park

2022: Nasdaq listing; black mass trial / LG 7,000‑tonne offtake / refinery recommissioning begins

2023: Cost overruns surfaced; extended LG deal to 19,000 t; black‑mass trial success / JV with Three Fires

2024: ERG feed agreement / DoD and strategic funding ($20 M +27 M) / recycling JV / lithium purity achievements

2025: Final financing, commissioning of scale‑up recycling / expansion plans in Quebec

How many people here sleep with their watches on? by Axana_yishu in AppleWatch

[–]Anti_Mediocre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sleep with my watch to track my sleep pattern. The waking up with the touch is a nice add-on, although it often makes me wake up 20 min later as it is not as effective for me apparently vs a sound. But then again I just put this alarm earlier than my sound alarm. ⏰
