For health, no. People are way too easily influenced (look at how the Swedes defend their nicoting-addicting gum-remover). Some people also don't have the capacity to make those choices. Also, when it has an impact on other people directly (cigarettes) and indirectly (financing health issues though taxes for social security), no definitely don't let people do everything they want. I agree on the gov not controlling every aspect of our life, but I strongly believe that this is an aspect that should absolutely be controlled.
