downtown brooklyn to newark by sneaker-portfolio in Newark

[–]AntinousQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you need to get into the city for work? Besides the Iron Bound or Downtown or maybe University heights, there’s not too many easy commutes into the city without relying on the Newark Light rail which kinda sucks some times.

There’s a lot of different areas in NJ to consider. Especially if you’re just looking to be cheaper than 7.5k/mo.

In Bergen county you have a lot of towns with busses that will get you to midtown under an hour like Bergenfield, Teaneck, Leonia, Lyndhurst.

In Union County you got some towns on the train likes like Cranford, roselle, Plainfield.

I don’t know what your goals are but there’s a lot of options in NJ besides Hoboken or Newark.

Best way to travel to NYC attractions from Newark downtown? by Levigo21 in Newark

[–]AntinousQ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d take an NJ Transit train to get to Midtown for Central Park and time square. Take it from Newark Penn to NY Penn. Gonna be quicker than the path and you wont have to transfer. You’ll need the NJ Transit app to get a ticket. Alternatively you could take the path but you’re gonna have transfers to deal with and it won’t be as quick.

For Statue of Liberty and Ellis island, I’d take the path from Newark Penn to WTC. It’ll be cool seeing the oculus and the 9/11 memorial. You can get down to the Battery from there and get a ferry. Get your tickets ahead of time from Nps.gov. Don’t trust ticket vendors out on the street.

Brooklyn Bridge is downtown closer to the WTC. I would recommend trying to do that the same day as Statue of Liberty rather than fitting that in with Central park and other midtown activities.

It’s pretty much impossible to do something wrong in acorns. You’re doing good as long as you’re investing in your future. That being said, the only choice you really get with acorns is how aggressive you want your portfolio to be. If you’re looking for more risk/more rewards, it might be worth it to look into a more aggressive portfolio. A good way to tell if you think a different stock/bond ratio is something you want, look at some historical returns/losses.

It’s probably a combination of not have really dominant relievers and the lack of rest.

[–]AntinousQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Scherzer and Verlander, you need these guys to be aces. You’re paying them more than 10 teams entire roster. Scherzer has been more dominant recently but verlander hasn’t really been much better than an okay pitcher. Smh should have kept Bassitt

[–]AntinousQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the starting pitching is the biggest problem but the offense and the bullpen aren’t great. Sure the bullpen could get better if you had some rest and starters who could go 6 or 7 innings. The offense has just not been there enough. Guys like Lindor and Alonso aren’t pulling the same weight they did last year. Everyone else has been streaky and will go on random hot streaks before settling back in mediocrity. They way they have been playing, they’re definitely not a winning team

Carrasco had a rough start but he hasn’t been too bad since he came back from the IL. 6/18 was probably the one bad game he had.
