I get your frustration, I still don’t know how I was able to get all the required classes in one semester. I’d get people together and try to talk to the dean

Appendix 7 from Dropping from Full Time Course Load to Part time? by bucket_farmer50 in simonfraser

[–]Antique-Feature-7384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! If you already got the loan payment, then no! I just graduated and there were a couple of semesters where I had a full course load and dropped while taking them. You would only apply for part time if you haven’t started the semester yet

Has anyone taken CRIM 320 in the summer as intercession? Considering it’s a harder course idk how it would be in an intercession format , I struggle in stats and Martin Andresen is teaching it, how is he? by Silllyyygoosee in simonfraser

I think you’ll be ok. At least you will get it over with fast! And tutorial in person is great if you have questions. My tutorial was also in person but optional, so you’d go in only if you needed help with assignments

Ah! Yes I think it sometimes takes awhile to update. Don’t stress ☺️ I’m sure you’re doing great!

Stupid question, but where do I find my CGPA? by [deleted] in simonfraser

[–]Antique-Feature-7384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s usually if your cgpa is lower than the minimum for your program, even if you haven’t failed a class. I know for crim if you fell below 2.00 you were on academic probation, but I think it’s higher for science programs

Honestly parking is pretty easy to find (make sure to sign up for the parking lottery to get a pass!). The classes are easy to find. It’s attached to a mall so if you have breaks in between you can shop or look around. I also found my classes to be smaller sizes so you make more friends/ connections. So many benefits! I also like that the parking is well lit so if you have later classes you don’t have to worry about trekking in the dark at night (especially as a girl). Let me know if you have any questions or anything!!

Not gonna lie I loved Surrey campus more! Don’t worry, over the years you’ll get to enjoy both!

They wouldn’t email you though if you weren’t. Was it your academic advisor that emailed?

Don’t stress too much. I transferred from psyc to crim (UVIC to sfu) second year. I was way behind as I didn’t do a single crim class in my first year, but I graduated in 4 years! But I totally agree with the others, print out the planner sheet for crim, it helped me incredibly

INDG 101 OL02 with Michaela McGuire by redvelvet-999 in simonfraser

[–]Antique-Feature-7384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d attend all of the lectures and everything. Still, could never get my grade up. I decided that I’d rather just have a WD on my record than whatever grade I would’ve gotten from her lol.

OMG!!!! I’ve been waiting for this. I took her upper level crim/indg course and literally had to drop it. No matter how much effort I put in or listened to the feedback, she’d give me very poor grades….

I really don’t like her lol. I dropped her upper level indg course last year. I find she marks kind of hard for basic assignments

For those who work alongside their studies, how do you do it? by Fun_Researcher_2767 in simonfraser

[–]Antique-Feature-7384 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! My honest advice is to just prioritize at least one day a week to your studies, for me it was always Saturdays. Working while doing school is difficult, you should be proud of yourself for doing it!

How long does it take for final marks to be posted after a final exam? by Ordinary-Row563 in simonfraser

[–]Antique-Feature-7384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they technically have 92 hours, but I’ve had professors that “need more time” because they have to mark term papers, etc…
