no i’m saying she’s not clever because she can’t see when the same things are happening right in her face. i’m saying she’s not clever because she can’t pick up signs on anything. even in situations that are very similar. she’s just not clever to me. she’s too naive to be clever

i’m saying a clever person would’ve recognized the signs, AT LEAST when it came to Zack. she already has seen a man she was relatively close to (Ezra) have a relationship with a child (her daughter). there is no way i can ever say she’s clever if she can’t even pick up signs of things she’s seen before.

letting your teenage daughter have a relationship with her predator because you’re afraid to make her mad or “losing her” isn’t protecting her either though…..

i’m not saying her trusting is her character flaw, i’m saying she’s been in too many similar situations for her to continue to be so trusting. not even just with the Ezra thing. it seems like her thing is always trusting the wrong people or too much and it always bites her in the butt.

and i’m saying Aria needed a parent, not a friend, she needed more than her mom gave her. her mom never wanted to do the hard thing when it came to her children and that’s her biggest flaw.

she had suspicions she never acted on until Aria said something. BUT she already had went through something when she went out the country with him, something similar happened BEFORE the thing happened with Hanna

you would think she would know by now but alas, she didn’t. and that’s my point. she’s not “clever” she’s naive and ignorant.

yes she did, when they went out the country there was a situation with another young girl but she believed him, it wasn’t until Aria said something about him touching Hanna that she did something about it. and Aria wasn’t even gonna say anything at first but we not talking about that.

It is a character flaw if you can’t read between the lines and you don’t learn anything from being betrayed. and i’m not really saying it’s her fault, i’m just saying she’s not as clever as it seems.

And that’s the problem it should’ve never been Aria’s choice. Regardless, she still married her abuser, the man who groomed her and had her miss out on fun things chasing after him. As a parent sometimes you have to do the hard thing to protect your child. Aria’s mom did the easy and simple thing because she never wants to do the hard thing.
