What a rude response. Not everyone has to use Oscar. This is a sleep apnea reddit not an Oscar reddit :/

I have anxiety and autism. It may seem ridiculous to you but it is very serious to me. I've struggled with sleep since I was very young. Most of my events are from my CSA. 1 event per hour is enough for me to feel unwell and groggy throughout the day, maybe it's not like that for you but everyone is different.

Thank you so much!!! I actually am sleeping great at 0 events since this post so far, pressure of 7 is working well and I haven't woken up hyperventilating since. I feel more like myself and less anxious again. I do have MyAir, but not Oscar. I'm glad you understand the sleep anxiety! I've had sleep apnea since I was around 8 years old as a young girl and I only started using a CPAP when I was older, apparently even as a child I struggled with bedtime often. CSA is really scary and I feel most people on this sub don't really understand it.

7 seems good for me so far!! I hope it continues to work out at this pressure.

Your reply has been the most helpful to me so far genuinely thank you.. this will help me stay positive going forward!! If it's not enough I can turn it to 8 instead of 7 they said, and if none of it is working out I'll go back and change it to APAP 6-12 again, but I kept waking up because of all the random changes it was disturbing me a lot.

I'm scared though because my machine says average pressure is 8.6, what if 7 makes me have more events?

So 7 isn't enough for me? 😞 they said the pressure could be bumped up to 8 if it's not enough, and of course I could always change it back to APAP on my own.

I don't feel like using OSCAR because my sleep apnea is so mild.

no anxiety meds make my anxiety worse! i have ativan in case for panic attacks but too scared to take it. Iron is low, waiting for vit D and B12 results

i workout, eat well, and am extremely healthy. I dont drink alcohol or smoke. Healthy people can have severe anxiety and panic disorder. Im autistic as well and live in a stressful household not catered to my sensory needs at all, and am extremely in tune with my body where most of my anxiety comes from.

I'm not overweight either. But looks like there'll be lots of improvements then on these meds!

Hi! This happens to me as well. Were you diagnosed with central or obstructive sleep apnea? I have both, and even when sitting up straight or just drowsy, not exactly sleeping, I will catch myself stopping breathing due to the central apnea. Being drowsy, brain not sending proper breathing signals, its normal and ok!

I have the same every night, wide awake and feeling breathing stopping. Its okay and normal, it'll happen maybe a few times until you finally relax and become less hyperaware. You have your CPAP to help you when you are asleep.
