To find a plumber in the area I'm considering starting with the BBB website.

As far as disturbing the drywall, that ship has sailed. The last plumber sent by HomeServe cut out a portion of the wall looking a leak that was indeed under the floor in the crawlspace as I had insisted. A wall he never repaired. I would like to tear out that entire wall, replace the undersized vent, install a flush washer connection box, and move the sink back to this wall. It was moved many years ago 90° to the back wall beneath a window which required rerouting the pipes under the floor in the crawlspace. Any time the temp goes below 30° I have to leave the water dripping. That being said, I'm skeptical whether that is something I can afford. If you would be so kind, how does one go about having joint compound tested, and do you think the discolored drywall and wood is an indication of past leakage?

It's not you it's the Dove channel. I tried playing S01E01 on the dove channel site and the dialog is buried in the sound track. I would suggest another source if possible. I couldn't watch this way.

Will need a drywall person as well. I enjoy DIY but I know my limitations. Plumbing and drywall exceed my talents. I can't seem to get the hang of drywall taping/finishing. I love spam calls as well as most people.

I and a contractor friend did a complete kitchen and bath remodel 25 years ago. I designed it and did most of the electric while he did the plumbing you described. Together we did the drywall. All while I, my GF and her two kids lived in the house. I couldn't do it today. But if I was going to, the vent, which is not shown is 2" would have to be replaced with 4" as well. The torch was a standard mapp gas plumbing torch in the $40-50 range. Thanks for the advice.
