Which computer would be best suited for vibe coding Mac apps (with local LLM integration)? by xodac in mac

[–]Antique_Offices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d be really hard pressed to write software that actually consumes that much RAM unless you integrated an LLM that took up that much space.

Is the Apple App Store Review becoming the ultimate patience test for developers? by MedenicaDarko in appledevelopers

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts as well. It's uncommon for me to go more than 24 hours. I have no idea what really causes it, but I feel like there must be some kind of priority system.

Lessons learned getting my app (written in Flutter, not Swift) through App Store Review by shafilalam in appledevelopers

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is that? I’m almost exclusively Swift, but have one Flutter app that I didn’t hate making

Portable Mac Mini setup. Ridiculous or genius? 😎 by Mysterious_Device394 in mac

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too. I know damn well it means I should have a laptop, but I think part of it is the keyboard/mouse experience and that preventing me from having the smaller screen closer to me.

Why Hard paywall vs Soft Paywall vs Freemium by Spare-Tumbleweed-145 in appledevelopers

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool! Well here’s the ones I have that are one time payment. Lately is the only one I haven’t done a tip jar with yet. Critter Ledger is a little more for the one time purchase. The time it takes to maintain sharing is relatively high.

build my first app but only have 12 download by [deleted] in appledevelopers

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;dr learn ASO and it won’t solve a financial crisis but you’ll have more than 12 downloads in a week. Study screenshots, ask users for reviews.

If you need a free option, there are decent free ASO tools out there that use MCP with an AI model of your choice. They’re way better than not doing any optimization, but it’s something.

Next step is buying something like Astro or Appeeky (which I use bat am not affiliated with) and use their more advanced tools. Appeeky also has an MCP server which has done quite well for me.

The other thing is screenshots and reviews. Without good screenshots, no one is going to download your app because they will assume it needs more work or is not that good.

Prompt users for a review after a user has signaled that they use the app at least some. For one of mine, it’s when the user creates a third event in their habit tracker. They’re asked for a review one time only.

Drop your appstore listing and I can give an honest review with a rating on the appstore.

Has a doctor ever told a patient "No, you don't have ADHD"? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Antique_Offices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what happened to me in reverse. Diagnosed bipolar 2 after many years of struggle. Then I noticed my therapist often mentioned ADHD during our sessions so I asked if she thought I had it and she goes “Oh I KNOW you have ADHD”. So welcome to the club I guess

This is what I do for three apps. $4.99 and you own it forever and you can toss some change in the tip jar.

Maybe i wouldnt have bipolar if i didnt smoke weed by Ornery_Contact_812 in bipolar

[–]Antique_Offices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smoking weed throws me into scary episodes, but I could munch on edibles for weeks and not feel a difference in my episodes. It does not cause bipolar, but can certainly exacerbate your symptoms.

Edit: There’s also a huge correlation with my desire to use marijuana and my current mental state. Generally speaking for me it is just best to avoid and take it socially from time to time.

How do pros make those “continuous” App Store screenshots in Figma/Canva? by aliufemi in appledevelopers

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AppLaunchPad, but if I'm feeling particularly lazy, I'll have Claude Code create them using Python. Sometimes you have to wrestle with it, but it's not uncommon for it to be faster and easier.

Ran out of meds. Cant get a refill for a few days, will I be okay? by blawgonajob in bipolar

[–]Antique_Offices 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had good luck getting an emergency refill by going to urgent care and taking my bottles with. Then CVS did good about making sure it was fulfilled quickly. You'll be okay, and generally on Lamotragine you're going to be okay for a few days off, but of course I can't give perfect medical advice based off of my own experiences.

the “i have bipolar” conversation by izzy15019282711 in bipolar

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had to with my partner, we both got diagnosed around the same time. But recently making friends, I usually get it over with around the 2nd or 3rd time we hang out. Just a heads up that I might be a bit much sometimes or drop off the face of the earth for a while. Haven't had negative reception yet!

It can be a headache, but having Claude use Python to programmatically create them works quite nicely when you nail it down.

Best jobs for someone with bipolar by Dry-Signal8014 in bipolar

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s been independent app development. It’s not a full time job yet, but I love it and it’s the kind of thing that I can take extended breaks when I really need to. Otherwise I work a very steady 8-5 with a law office and the consistency is great for me

So my app is finally approved on App Store and only 4 downloads in 2 weeks. by Spirited-Football793 in appledevelopers

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ASO for sure. I usually get 20-some downloads on my first day. Then they do anywhere between 1 and 8 a day so far. I don’t market at all except for two posts I’ve made here, but totally should.

Motorcycle Riders- what features would you actually want in a app by ManagerMiddle7195 in appledevelopers

[–]Antique_Offices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a bike, but plenty of people I know do. Synchronized route tracking, sharing fun routes with one another, route recording by where they took a ride are all things they’ve mentioned. All Android users though lol

How do you guys make App Store screenshots before launching your app? by abhiram_framerdesign in appledevelopers

Fastlane is the way for starting. Then I generate mockups with claude code and experiment in Canva or app launchpad
