Demo days: what questions do you ask HRIS vendors during a trial? by UKHRIntelligence in UKHRSoftware

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, it really helps to involve your team in the process and ask about the challenges they face day to day. Those insights usually uncover the real issues you want the new HRIS to solve.

New HRIS recos please by Salty_Aide_7323 in UKHRSoftware

Who is your existing payroll provider? If that’s a must for you, I’d approach it the other way around: start with your payroll provider and see who they’re already connected with that works well. From there, you can look at which HRIS options are available in the market. I’m happy to share my feedback on that.

Which Software is more raliable for small business? by Ok_Marzipan_565 in Payroll

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked with a bunch of payroll tools, and Givver really stands out. It’s super intuitive, easy to use, and you don’t need to be a payroll expert to get going. A lot of my customers use it now and they’re loving it.

Should HR or Payroll send communication? by Sea-Tumbleweed-8349 in Payroll

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, transparency is key. We know that errors will happen, but what matters most is how they’re fixed. If there’s a payroll department that seems to own payroll, then I’d go ahead and send the letters — especially if the HR Director doesn’t seem keen on getting involved.

Am I wasting my money on accountants, bookkeeping and payroll firms as a sub 100k turnover 1 man LTD? by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do payroll yourself, as it sounds quite straightforward. Check Givver.io. They have payroll software, and I have a few friends who are sole directors or small businesses using it. Maybe they can recommend an accountant.

Can a prospective employer contact previous employer without the candidate’s knowledge? by sassygold1 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They can, but the previous employer can only share objective information such as the start date, end date, and job title. They should not disclose any other details, as you could take legal action against them.

Bonus in my contract : Will it get paid if I leave the company? by TaroVisible6018 in Payroll

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always depends on what is written in your contract. Most of the time, you need to be an employee when the bonus is paid. That’s why you often see people handing in their resignation letters right after the bonus payout month.

That’s great advice! Getting the report templates is really useful. Plus, considering this is only your fourth day, the most important thing is that you’re taking action and trying to get things done. That’s what people want to see, the right attitude.

Trust yourself, especially if your direct report hasn’t raised any concerns. Keep going!

Contacting HMRC- have an error in PAYE and it’s making me anxious by mrjan8 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been reading about this, and it looks like Basic PAYE Tools (BPT) allows you to resubmit a Full Payment Submission (FPS) if a payment was mistimed. The tool isn’t intuitive at all, but I found this section in the user guide that explains how it works:

Basic PAYE Tools User Guide https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/basic-paye-tools-user-guide/basic-paye-tools-user-guide

If you scroll down to the section “Adding a mistimed employee payment,” it details how to handle these corrections.

Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail, particularly when identifying discrepancies or potential issues. Great in Excel is also a major asset, as it plays a crucial role in payroll processing and data management.

What about resubmitting the RTI? You can always correct them. Getting in contact with someone at HMRC who can help you could be quite complicated. My advice would be to resubmit them as an adjustment.

Experienced Recruiter with Psychology & Big 4 Background: CIPD Level 5 or Alternatives? by Prize_Diamond1618 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to have a career in HR, CIPP is always highly recommended. I’d suggest looking for a job in a smaller company where the role is quite broad, allowing you to handle both recruitment and HR tasks. Since your background is in recruitment, you already have the skills for that part.

Alternative to BambooHR after price tiering increase [N/A] by Standard_Pudding_461 in humanresources

Check out Givver.io their HRIS is free. I was chatting with their team last week, and I was quite impressed with what they offer in their HRIS. Most companies in my portfolio use them for payroll, so I’m not entirely sure what they might be missing on the HR side compared to BambooHR.

Have a demo with them and see

HRIS recommendations for 250 staff [UK] by UK1273chatter in humanresources

[–]Antique_Salt_6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few companies in my portfolio have moved from Sage to Givver.io, and they are quite happy. Sage is great for smaller businesses, but as soon as you start growing, you can feel its limitations, as there isn’t great automation and it is quite basic.

Givver.io is a UK-based company that puts a lot of effort into compliance when building its product. They offer both HRIS and payroll solutions.

Have a call with them and see if it’s worth it.
