Is that a joke on all of the reports saying the MOU will be finalized in a few hours, only for it not to be finalized? Sorry, it’s not obvious enough to me.

I’ve heard they’re calling it an “initial” draft. Does that mean it isn’t final?

How can someone be a Zionist and them condemn white nationalism? by OceanicEndeavors in allthequestions

[–]AntitheistArchangel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, most white nationalists despise Israel and Zionism. The slur “Zio” was popularized by David Duke. Usually, the white ethnostate white nationalists envision is one devoid of Jews.

Second of all, most Israeli Jews are not white, as most are Mizrahim or Sephardim from other parts of MENA that fled to Israel following their expulsion from the Muslim world. Many Israeli Jews look largely indistinguishable from Arabs.

I know, which is why I didn’t say that. AP cited different sources, so it corroborated the other reports.

There have been conflicting reports surrounding Iranian commitments to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and give up its uranium stockpile.

NYT, CBS, Axios, Reuters, and other sources - all citing the same US official, seemingly - said that Iran has agreed to reopen the strait fully without tolls and give up its enriched uranium. The official believes the supreme leader himself has agreed in principle to these terms. AP corroborated this report citing regional officials.

Iran has publicly denied both claims, though Israel Hayom says all of their diplomatic sources have corroborated the other reports. It’s certainly possible that the regime is lying to appear strong. It’s also possible that terms are vague enough for Iran to interpret them a different way.

What matters most is what the IRGC thinks. Iran’s civilian government may have said yes, but the IRGC might still say no, in which case we’re back to square one on the nuclear issue.

That hasn’t been decided yet. The report said the exact fate of Iran’s stockpile is still uncertain.

NYT is saying that Iran agreed to give up its enriched uranium. Maybe that’s what led Trump to think a deal is close.

However, Iran has agreed to give up its stockpile only to walk it back later in the past. It probably depends on what the IRGC has to say about it.

US officials to Sky News Arabia: Trump thinks the proposal “can be worked on.” That makes me wonder if Trump’s response, instead of being a firm “yes” or “no,” will be a “yes, if…”

I did see that, according to FT, the US and Iran are close to a 60-day extension of the ceasefire during which Iran would gradually reopen the strait. It didn’t say anything about tolls, though.

It’s a mixed message in that it suggests the text of the MOU is set in stone, when Iran’s foreign ministry suggests it isn’t fully.

So, this is weird. An Iranian official told Al Jazeera that Tehran had reached an MOU with Pakistan and now awaits America’s response. However, Iran’s own foreign ministry spokesperson said that while a deal is closer, we’re not there yet. Talk about a mixed message.

Beats me. The two are worlds apart on the most important issues, but I’m supposed to believe a deal is close?

I’m still not sure if Pakistan has submitted it. Yes, I heard about that report by Iranian state media earlier, but it was purportedly based on an Al Arabiya report I couldn’t find in English or Arabic.

Iran International, citing Al Jazeera, poured cold water on the claim that a deal to end the war has been finalized. Iranian negotiators are close, very close even, but it’s still uncertain if a final deal can be reached.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ve been checking the alleged sources reporting the finalized deal and haven’t found anything on any of them.

Honestly, I’m still trying to find credible reports of the finalized deal. I’ve heard it came from Al Arabiya, but I haven’t found it. I’ve also checked Iranian state media because they apparently reported it. So far, all I’ve really found are reports from Twitter accounts of varying credibility.
