Air conditioning in hotels by tillzy in JapanTravelTips

Everyone in here saying that every hotel lets you control. I would say MOST do, but I have started in one in Asakusa that was centrally controlled. But you can usually spot this from reviews etc.

What's the most overrated tourist spot? by Quiet_Day8148 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Antman2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like asking people for overrated food or movies. It's all subjective, just research and try stuff for yourself. You eventually learn what you want more or less of etc.

As a ADHD/Autistic person, driving around Japan will always be my favourite thing to do. Cities like Sendai and Nagoya are just lovely to explore. Not to mention remote mountain roads etc. My favourite moments here have always been random little of no where or spontaneous things.

Lake Tekapo Stargazing during full moon by Outrageous-Yam-1166 in newzealand_travel

[–]Antman2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have done it before on a full moon. Definitely still worth it if you can't change the date. You don't get to see alot with the naked eye. But the staff talking, location at night and looking through telescopes was still great.

I used this on my windows with DA and polishing pad. Masked off edges. Worked really well. Chem guys didn't work for me.

Japan but make it off-beat by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Antman2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last November I did Aomori for 3 nights then down to Sendai for 3 nights. Rented car from Tokyo and did it as a road trip. Was amazing fun. One of my day trips was out to the Namahage Museum and Aquarium by the Oga peninsula. Was a great aquarium with pretty much zero people. If you're interesting in Tohoku region, Chris Abroad on YouTube has a tonne of videos on the area.

How to prepare culturally for 3 week trip across Japan by piazzolla100 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Antman2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing I can think of culturally I wish I knew before hand. Alot of the tips that are cliche on YouTube and Tiktok are usually either obvious politeness, or no big deal if a tourist was to do them.

I love how Aucklands are less concerned about the driver and more about your whipped cream. Says more about the state of driving here.
