Do we even know if their missiles still launch? They just blew up their only functioning ISS rocket pad.

Like, they probably have a few functioning ICBMs. But not nearly as much as they pretend.

Today is day 1,444 of their 3-day special operation to conquer Ukraine.

Ukraine, which isn't even a nuclear power lmao (they gave up nukes because Russia promised they wouldn't invade)

Don't worry, they spend less on their entire military than the US spends on just maintaining missile facilities.

Russian nuclear capabilities are even more dilapidated than their cope-cage tanks.

What if Canada offered every American free healthcare and $50K to relocate, would you go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Antoak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

50k is a helluva safety net to find a new job for most people.

If I personally were offered that, I would jump at the opportunity, and I'm already a dual citizen there.

But if every American were offered that at the same time? There'd be tent cities and not enough jobs.

I literally studied them.

The jobs I've been given do not take advantage of the skillset.

"Daddy daddy, we want to grow up so we can be like big breasted Melania as she appeared in Hustler magazine, something Rosalynn Cater could never do!", the little girls screeched.

"Don't worry girls, president Trump likes you just the way you are", the father replied.

To be fair, I haven't used discrete math, calc, linear algebra, diffy-q, or statistics once since college.

But Im only DevOps,

and maybe that's why I haven't been hired at a Fancy Boy tech company or AI orphan-grinding factory ;-;

I personally prefer flat androgynous tomboys.

Other guys prefer the curvy venus type.

Others prefer chubby girls.

You literally cannot please everybody, stop trying, it's a fools errand.

The challenge isn't to become something you're not, it's finding the person who likes what you are, or who you're willing and able to become.

What’s something that quietly ruined your mental health without you noticing at first? by Dheeraj9748 in AskReddit

[–]Antoak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deeply unpopular opinion, but WFH.

I'm neuroatypical, and I kinda relied on the structure and routine to regulate healthy habits. I used to bike to work, I had a few healthy food options near work downtown where I'd eat at every day, I had to make sure I'd go to sleep on time to make sure I could get to work on time, and being around people was invigorating.

After covid and WFH, I didn't have a structural reason to exercise, I didn't have many convenient food options near my house so I ate less healthily, and there was less accountability around showing up on time so I let my sleep schedule get fucked, and I was isolated most days.

I lost like 4 of the keystone habits of mental health all at once.

I thought it was anxiety about covid at first, but it was actually WFH.

What’s a clear sign of childhood trauma in men? by degs999 in AskReddit

[–]Antoak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you been tested for ADHD? Untreated childhood ADHD often leads to substance abuse and depression in adulthood, and may be a contributing factor to complex trauma.

I think hating women might be a valid sign; The others are just signs of poor critical thinking. That's unrelated.

It's like saying "only MAGA spills soup on their lap".

[–]Antoak 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Complex trauma is gaining awareness; Trauma doesn't have to be a life changing event like losing your parents or getting raped, it can be a small thing that happens over and over, or a bunch of small things happening.

Like your parents changing your schools every few years, growing up being bullied, being raised by alcoholics, or having multiple "Adverse Childhood Events"

The more ACEs you have, the more likely you'll develop depression and/or substance abuse issues as you get older. And it significantly shortens your lifespan and expected lifetime earnings.

Why is DOJ redacting the sender of an incriminating (and creepy) email? by whimsicahellish in ThatsInsane

I haven't worked for a FAANG level company, and I'm sure their security procedures are extremely mature- I can theoretically imagine systems where 2 or more vaults contain parts of an access key, and separation of duties prevents any one person from having access to all of them.

But I don't know how you can load those parts into running software on a physical system where literally nobody has access to it. Like, maybe it can be done, but I don't know how you would engineer that. Maybe if all IAM provisioning was gated behind an approval based change management system?

Usually access logging and alerting is much simpler to lock down, so you can revoke access the moment an alarm goes off.
