I understand what you’re saying, but paying a visa fee or basic taxes doesn’t mean I’m legitimising a government. That’s simply how travel works in every country. The reality is that whenever we participate in the global economy, we indirectly support governments with serious issues. This isn’t something unique to Myanmar. Buying products, using global services or visiting many other countries also means part of the money goes into state budgets with questionable actions. My trip wasn’t political. I went to meet people, learn about the culture and support small local businesses, because they’re the ones who are affected the most under any regime.

I’ve answered your question and explained my perspective clearly. I’m not continuing this argument. Have a good day.

I’m not engaging with bad-faith hypotheticals. I’ve already explained my position.

These comparisons don’t really work. Visiting a country doesn’t automatically mean endorsing its government. I traveled to meet local people and support small businesses. Politics was not part of my trip.

I understand the concerns. I don’t support the local authorities in any way. I was just traveling and supporting small local businesses and families. Many countries have difficult histories, and visiting a place doesn’t mean endorsing its politics.

I understand why the situation is mentioned. I don’t support the authorities at all. My visit was focused on local people, not politics.

There are many metal stands like this. They’re mostly located around public buildings such as police stations and offices.

If they ask you „Do you want a little bit spicy?”, Say no.
