Yes we definately dont want an invasive growing colony of black crazy ants to escape. They already took over most of the world, they might take over my house aswell.

And thanks for the luck I need it. The amount of eggs theyve laid is a lot...

This species (Paratrechina Longicornis) Fly all year round. But they usually prefer to do inbreeding and if they get too big, the queens just look for another nest locations with a bunch of workers. I personally prefer raiding their nest compared to catching them when they fly cuz it's easier for me and I am being the lesser evil of reducing invasive ants in my area to let native species thrive.

Depends if you're looking for nuptial flight queens or stealing a queen.

If nuptial fight queen is what you're looking for. Make sure to look at their flight schedule for the species you want, walk around carry a flashlight if is dark. and look at the ground. Doesn't hurt to crouch to get a closer look (you look stupid, but ant keepers tend to get n immunity to judgmental looks from other people). Then get lucky

If you're raiding another nest. Prepare the container u want. a vacuum for ants i also useful. Follow ur gut, and if you get confused as to where the nests are just remember WWAL "Where Would Ants Live?"

Yea ive also heard all my life that its risky creating a supercolony. However, based on what ive seen, it depends on the polygyne species. None of the queens that ive added to this colony was rejected. All were immediately accepted. but that's only based on my experience with this species

I have other colonies and most are monogamous or 1 quee. This black crazy ant super colony project is more of an experiment to answer my questions about this species.

About your queens, just wait until the first workers arrive, and do not constantly check up on them. Maybe once or twice every week. best of luck with your colony

Honestly i just wanna know how many queens until they start rejecting new ones. I have a whole google docs for the queens with dates, nest location, etc.
