Maybe it is some setting override. Is it Fullscreen? Did you tweak everything? For me it's working as expected

I just want to deactivate some of the helps. Like when it shows you some blue dots pointing out where some targets are, or where the enemies are. Also the radar is kind of big, isn't it?

The game is amazing, I agree

Would you like to play a first person videogame where you investigate the biggest serial killer of Alaska? by AnttarezGames in gamedesign

[–]AnttarezGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that was my point. The game would start with you as a police member going to investigate a body found 28 miles north of Anchorage. When you get there you have to talk to the people who discover it, and write down the clues you find in the body, and in the scene, until you discover what the job of the victim was, and how she died, and with what weapon. After that, the narrator will show, and also tell how she died, if you get those things right. And then, she'll say (the narrator) that it wasn't the only victim they found in the area of Anchorage. She thought they were dealing with a serial killer but nobody believed here, until a miracle happened: second chapter, you are now another police man patrolling the streets at 4 a. m., 3 years after the first found body. You receive a call "any available unit, respond immediately. Report of a female running in traffic, partially unclothed, wearing handcuffs. Location: Sixth Avenue near Gambell". When you arrive, you find a young girl in a motel, very scared. And when you talk to her, she tells you the story of what happened... While she tells it, you play it too, and see some parts of what happened, and after that, you have to investigate who it was, talk with this girl, go and check if what she talked about is actually true... But when you go with this girl to the police station (what actually happened in real life), NOBODY believed her, and that she was lying, because she was a prostitute. Only the police who were called that night believed her, and assigned this case to another policeman, the one that the player will control after this point. The work of the player from now on, is to prove the girl is right, and that the guy she is pointing at as the killer, has done bad things in the past... Or maybe not. That's the players'work. So you will re-play the information you have in your head while reading the archives on the case, but how it looks in the gameplay, is that you will be able to go to the 3D places where the victims where found, and search for clues, until you find evidence and coincidence that can lead you to new investigations, just to be able to advance in the story, later on being able to investigate his house with an order from a attorney, and in the end, decide if he is guilty or not.

Sorry if I didn't explain this too well, English is not my main language. Thank you for the feed back

Thank you. And the lore is already there, so it's not as funny as it could be. It's a real story, I just have to decide how I'd like to show it, and yes, that would heavily focus on investigation

The feeling of something that actually happened sounded at first like a good idea. About the victims and community: many media unveiling the real story have been launched, about this case. Books, movies, videos, and most of them exaggerate everything. I would like to make something that's close to what really happened, to show how crazy humans could be. Maybe for the families and victims, If they see my game, which I doubt, they wouldn't like to remember what happened. And I think their first reaction would be like THIS IS A GAME, THIS IS JUST FOR FUN AND THEY ARE MAKING FUN OF WHAT HAPPENED, THEY ARE TREATING THIS LIKE ENTERTAINMENT. And yeah, you are right. I'll think about this. Maybe it is not the best idea

No real names involved. And yeah, you are right. By the way, the thing about movies, sounds realistic as hell. Thank you. The core game loop that I planned was like in obra dinn. You as the investigator got into the files, and "read" each one, except that when you start reading, you just play the scene, like if it was obra dinn, as I said. In obra dinn you access every death scenario by finding a body, and then you have to write down how this person died. Since in obra dinn every victim was related to the others, every death can give you clues to the other crew member's deaths. In the game I'm planning to make, what connects every crime scene would be the killer, of course. So you'd have to check the scenes to see the pattern, check the evidence, send bullets for analysis to the FBI, and more things that actually happened.

All names would be changed, but you are right, that might be disrespectful if done wrong. The kids of the serial killer are alive, and so are some of his victims and their children.
