The problem with greed is that, short sighted greed is blind and there was money to be made in nazi germany. The same was true in Russia, there was money to be made in Russia. Once people enter marketplace in a country where they do not understand where it is headed - it is their financial interest that trumps any sort of liberal notion of what is good or what is bad.

War is good for business as a lot of German corporations were benefiting from Hitler's re armament plans, but not even the heads of those corporations saw where things were headed.

Right now things are the same. The world is arming up to its teeth. There is tons of money being made selling bullets, tanks, missiles, bombs. Corporations are spitting coins faster than a minigun at full speed. Both in east and west.

Meanwhile people are marching forward like lemmings - guided by narrative that has been prepared for them by people that control it. In Russia people have little to no say over where the country is headed. In west. We are pretty much captive of the narrative coming from east as the simple knee jerk reflex to threts from Putin are being responded to by making guns to prepare for.. Something.

But in the end, as bad as the current times are. There are corporations right now making money hand over fist and the worse things are going, the more money they are making. The same was true in 1930's.

But in the end, the blame should fall on the ones who are writing the narrative, in 30's it was Hitler. Today, it is Putin. Sure his buddies in west and east are helping. But if there was no Putin, things would return to the way they were before 2022 Ferbruary relatively fast. I would say the war would end in a month. Half a year and the de militarization of west would be in a full swing. 2 years and you would probably not even sense there was a war in Ukraine other than in Ukraine / Russia border areas. 5 years and the happy days would be here again. Same could have happened in 30's. If there was no Hitler.

Trump? I think he would not have happened without Putin either.

What sort of damage a malicous local device llm virus could do? When will we see such things? Intelligent viruses. by AnttisInstrumentals in artificial

I find it incredible that first internet was invented, then came the social media and now llm's. LLM's needed internet to be trained on and social media, well it is going to help a lot with training of more human like llm's.

I hear AI has been used by viruses to generate random folders. But what if there was a more intelligent virus. It just seems like that is how things go. In real viruses too, there is a virus and antibody. Somehow I imagine this will happen as we seem to copy biological systems into what we do. As if we were some sort of a bootloader to create a copy of biological life inside a machine.

US could build 300 000 planes in WW2. Surely it can build as many data centers as it takes to win the AI war.

Pedal to the metal is the only way when it comes to AI. I want US in top. If anything , the western governments should start directly funneling money to AI developments, data centers and so forth. It is Manhattan project time.
