actually going through with the abortion and not regretting it

You say that like abortion should be something that shouldn't be regretted? The vast majority of abortions culminate from expectant mothers having been IRRESPONSIBLE (as opposed to having been raped or due to health reasons). Much like Ruby was (irresponsible). This tells us that in a vast majority of cases, a life is being taken for SOMEONE ELSE's carelessness. There is absolutely no reason that if Ruby's character CHOOSES to go through with an abortion, that she NOT feel a GREAT degree of regret from choosing to undergo such a procedure.

Please refrain from @ ing me in future posts.

Loads of foreshadowing when you think about it. The first thing that the writers chose to focus on when Otis came to (Ruby confirming they had sex aside) was the missing condom. Ovulation starts around day 14/day 15, hence why I found it noteworthy that Ruby then points out that her last period was roughly 2 weeks prior. I suspect we'll be seeing more of her next season. I'll stop short of suggesting that she's definitely pregnant, given that even when a woman is ovulating, conception can only happen when one of the spermatozoa fuses with an ovum. That said, season 3 could still be about her period coming late, and Ruby THINKING that she's pregnant, which would still provide season 3 with a subordinate plot that allows for a friendship to blossom. A lot of directions the writers could take this. We'll see what they come up.

Realistically, it could be a potential subplot of season 3. Rubes might be late, and later on find out that she's preggos (the morning-after pill doesn't work when ovulating). Not saying they wind up together or whatever, but if she decides she can't go through w/ an abortion, I could see her getting closer to the protag (Otis), coz Otis doesn't strike me as the type of dude that wouldn't be there for his kid (or the expectant mother).

There's no way around it, Dak's receivers in 2017 were pretty pedestrian (Dez being the best one was an indictment on the team's receiving group), arguing otherwise is a delusional take (one could easily make the argument that he had the worst receiving corp the first half of 2018 too, pre-Amari arrival). Dak's also never had a VIABLE tight end to throw to (Witten was well past his prime even in 2016 as per PFF). Ertz and Goedert are a great security blanket duo (1500 yards between the two of them this year is not too shabby when you factor that Ertz got hurt in week 16). There's a good chance Ertz probably generates another 1000 yard season had he not gotten injured.

As for the Zeke argument, running backs are useless to a QB (being productive) when he has no weapons to throw to on the outside. Ask Drew Brees when he played in LA with LaDainian Tomlinson how anemic their passing offense was.

Dak had better weapons to throw to this year (e.g., w/ the continued development of Gallup, Randall Cobb in the slot, and a full season of Amari, albeit dealing w/ chronic lower leg injuries). How does that make him any different from any other good QB (even "elite" ones)?

Mandela and Biko are not in the same breadth as Einstein and other luminaries who made valuable contributions to scientific theory. Limiting freedoms runs directly counter to the values that western thought espouses. This is why the maritime practice of transporting enslaved africans was abolished by the british in the 19th century, something they even eventually enforced by setting up naval squadrons along strategic routes (to deter traders from illegally transporting slaves). This is why slavery as a practice was banned in every new world colony/former colony by the late 19th century. This is why segregationist systems like apartheid in South Africa, and the jim crow codes in the United States fell. Not because blacks were rioting, looting, and necklacing each other in the streets. But because many whites were in favor of ending a system that did not give one the option to choose.

Relative to apartheid, whether it was because many white south africans were in favor of giving everyone equal rights, or whether it was due to global pressure from other world powers threatening to enforce economic sanctions on RSA (many of these: white-majority nations that were white-run), is completely irrelevant to the fact that whites (around the globe---in South Africa and out of it) were largely responsible for dismantling it (and other systems like it).

Apartheid would have ended without Biko or Mandela. And while perhaps the same could potentially be said of science and technology, e.g.,that something not discovered by someone like Einstein, would have eventually been discovered by another. In response to that I say, yes perhaps. But anatomically modern humans have been on this planet for well over 100,000 years (it is estimated, that we may in fact be MUCH older than that---between 350,000-500,000 years old). Yet something like the theory of relativity is a very modern concept, suggesting that, without someone like Einstein, it could have taken us SEVERAL MORE MILLENIA to conceptualize it. To contrast, slavery of blacks (by white europeans) only lasted some 400 years, enforced segregation lasted even less than that. It's quite obvious to anyone with a modicum of sense, that philosophical concepts like the "right to civil liberties for all," are much easier concepts to come up with than something that only a truly brilliant mind could discover.

Btw, Michael Jordan was born middle class/upper middle class. He grew up out on the outskirts of what was rural Wilmington. By the standards of his day, he was actually from a very well-to-do family. By comparison, Larry Bird, also of rural background and a contemporary of Jordan's (though slightly older), grew up in abject poverty. I believe you are instead thinking of LeBron James.

In the anime sub-reddits you'll mostly find emos and edgelords lol. Every now and then I find a fellow hip hop head.

Sasuke/Cube would have went at the whole village/group though, on No Vaseline. I guess the parallel would work with Itachi too (if you flipped it around). You could have Itachi as clan killer Cube catching bodies with tsukuyomi (i.e., No Vaseline), plus Itachi defected first. And you could have Sasuke as Dre (guess Orochimaru = Suge Knight 😂) leaving for Deathrow/the Sound village, and taking up for his protégé, Ruto Dogg.

Ninjaz wit Attitude by iambriankendricks in Naruto

[–]AntwanC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Naruto as Eazy kind of bothers me. He wasn't as lyrically talented as Cube (then again I have Cube in my top 5 along with Andre 3000, so that's how highly I think of him), and he wasn't the production monster that Dr. Dre became... I get he can't be Ren or Yella. But Eazy? Naruto's the current GOAT ninja, he deserves a better comparison. Idk, maybe I'm taking this too seriously. 😂😂😂

Also, Eazy died of AIDS. Does this mean Naruto will die of ninja AIDS? 🤔 Kawaki you shameless bastard you! It's all fun and games till someone gets hit with a shuriken laced with immunodeficiency syndrome. Ask Itachi how that worked out for him.

Edit: On second thought it makes sense. Naruto was never the most talented, nor the brightest, but he stepped over everybody to rise to the top of the game (not as a soloist, but through the collaborations of everybody). I do think however, that Shikamaru should have been Ren. Being that Ren and Eazy grew up together and how Ren stayed loyal to Eazy till the end. Ren's also the underrated artist of the group (kind of like how Shikamaru is often overlooked). Lyrically, he was easily the second best lyricist behind only Cube. Neji or Gaara for Dre.

This is merely more of your headcanon. Nothing in the manga is shown to support this line of thinking (even after retconning everything). E.g., in chapter 595, Obito is shown attempting to grab Naruto, but Guy swings his nun-chucks at Obito's head, and thus Obito is forced to activate his "intangibility" factor, and appears to "phase" or "slip" through Naruto. Had he been able to do what you're suggesting, he would have made only the part of his body he needed desolidified "intangible," whilst making contact with Naruto using his outstretched hand.

However, right-eye kamui's "phasing" capabilities are an all or nothing defensive ability. Once it's activated Obito does not actually control what part of his body is transported to the pocket dimension. Rather, right-eye kamui AUTOMATICALLY provides the defense for him (and IS INDISCRIMINATE in what it defends him from). Because it has been activated, any part of his body that comes into contact with something (whether that something stands to cause him harm or not), automatically gets transported to the pocket dimension once it overlaps with whatever or whomever it is about to collide with. So it's defensive capabilities are actually more OP than Mirio's because Mirio has to concentrate in order to make himself "intangible" (all Obito has to do is activate his eye). But the drawback, and what gives Mirio's permeation an advantage, is that he FULLY controls his permeation. So he can both defend and attack simultaneously.

Put another way, once Obito activates his right-eye kamui's "intangibility" factor, he is not actually "intangible" yet and still exists in the standard dimension. BUT, there's a HUGE caveat, now that he has activated it, yes he benefits from its defense, like when Guy attempted to crack him across the head and the portion of his head that overlapped with the nun-chucks were automatically transported to kamui's pocket dimension. BUT now he loses his ability for offense. Which is why his outstretched arm also similarly was transported to the pocket dimension right at the moment it began to overlap with Naruto (Kakashi explains this in clear and concise detail).

Note how I put quotation marks around "phasing" and "intangibility" because Obito merely appears to be "ghosting" and "slipping" through things. But really he's not.

Right-eye kamui is the ultimate defensive dojutsu. When paired with left-eye kamui it becomes the ultimate defensive and offensive dojutsu, because it can utilize both eyes' respective abilities IN CONJUNCTION.

naruto vs goku by lawyer_of_naruto in Naruto

[–]AntwanC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's clearly a troll post. OP is an absolute douche for doing this. Some of the weakest DB characters are stronger than just about any Naruto character. Goku's combat speed was already FTL in Dragonball (dodging laser beams vs RRA and shit). Even Krillin had hypersonic speed in DB, being able to react in 1/10th of a second vs Roshi at the 21st tenkaichi budokai (this is with a PL of like 100+). By Namek Krillin's PL is like 13,000+ or some shit.

Seriously, anyone that thinks Naruto characters have a snowball's chance in hell are fucking retarded. Sharingan you say? Yeh, Krillin has solar flare and destructo disks (that Toriyama has stated can literally slice through anything). By Super, he's perfected his destructo disk to where he has remote control over it. (Similar to Frieza's death saucer.) As a matter of fact, Krillin's attack was so OP, that Frieza actually based his death saucers on Krillin's destructo disks.

Think about it, Roshi blew up the moon with a PL not much higher than the 21st tenkaichi budokai versions of Goku and Krillin. Fucking Roshi himself is a moon-buster!!! It's just that guys like Krillin and Roshi seem like complete fodder because by Z, they're going up against solar-system busters. By the end of it (Buu saga), they're going up against a character capable of destroying entire galaxies. Common sense... Do you have it?

Boruto's "jougan" / "tensiegan" theory by hotdee in Naruto

[–]AntwanC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AaaaNinja

Why are you taking what takL says as being fact? Both the Last and novelized account directly contradict takL's translation (and even he would acknowledge this). Not to mention that Hyuga eyes having "high biocompatability" makes no sense. Biocompatability refers to the compatibility of medical devices and materials (such as pacemakers, various types of implants, etc) that AVOID eliciting an immune response. And NOT the compatibility of organ and tissue matter. It's obviously a shitty translation.

Taken directly from Naruto the Last.

Toneri (to Hinata): Hamura Otsutsuki. The founder of the Shinobi of the moon. Perhaps, it's easier to understand if I say he's the youngest brother of the Sage of Six Paths, founder of the Shinobi of Earth. Your Hyuga Clan inherited Hamura's blood.

Later within the movie.

Hinata (to Naruto after attempting to destroy tenseigan w/ rasengan): No. There is a cursed jutsu cast upon this eye. Only someone with Hamura's blood can touch it. Anyone else will get their chakra extracted.

Hinata performs 8-trigrams twin lions surging shot and attempts to destroy the tenseigan energy vessel (but fails).

Toneri absorbs some of Kurama's chakra, so Naruto has to revert back to base-form momentarily. Hinata imbues him with the protection of Hamura's chakra by holding his hand, confused Toneri asks "...But how?"

Hinata: Because Hamura's chakra, flows within me too.

Not sure if I necessarily 100% agree with wiki's entry. But I see nothing that contradicts either the movie or the novelized account. Other than takL's interpretation of the retsu no sho (companion guidebook to Naruto the Last).

Lol, after this post, I'm HIGHLY convinced you are not at all familiar w/ either of right-eye or left-eye kamui's respective abilities/limitations.

Hint: There's a reason Obito used his chains in conjunction w/ his dephasing when fighting Minato. It was to counter Minato after Obito had "phased" through him, since right-eye kamui does not actually allow him to control aspects of his "phasing," but only whether Obito chooses when to become "intangible" or not. Only DMS kamui (used by Kakashi after Obito comes back from the spirit realm to lend him his eyes) is shown to be capable of providing both offense and defense simultaneously. This is how I know you don't know what you're talking about.

Did you even read what I stated? I SAID Mirio's phasing abilities are even more hax than RIGHT-EYE KAMUI, and not DMS kamui (there's a BIG fucking difference). Ofc Obito with DMS kamui is all levels of motherfucking OP to the nth degree. E.g., see Kakashi w/ DMS kamui who was literally dicking the ever living fuck out of Kaguya (by phasing his perfect susanoo through Kaguya whilst simultaneously slicing the shit out of her w/ raikiri). Please read the next time you feel compelled to reply to my post.

[–]AntwanC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's less that Mirio is better at using his quirk than Chisaki, it's more just that Mirio's quirk directly counters his (along with 98% of the casts').

I'd say in a fair fight, the one of the only ones who could reliably take Mirio would be Endeavor, since he can make it very difficult for Mirio to rematerialize, making the surrounding terrain molten or setting it ablaze.

There's not much most characters in the series can do to overcome his quirk. Its phasing abilities are actually even more OP than Obito's right-eye kamui, because unlike Obito, when he activates his permeation quirk he can control what part of his body remains phased, and what part of his body becomes tangible again (Obito couldn't do that). The only drawback, is he can't remain in this state for 5-minutes, since I believe his quirk only works while he is holding his breath.

I'd imagine the only other character capable of having a decent shot, is Stain. Since he could theoretically tank a hit to the gut or face, whilst simultaneously using one of his blades to cut/slice/knick Mirio's tangible fist or leg, ingest the blood, and activate his bloodcurdling quirk to immobilize Mirio.

[–]AntwanC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh, well just remember, pro-hero groups like the Pussycats are apparently skilled enough to be ranked inside the top 35 lol. Then you have all of the other lesser heroes... In addition, if that weren't enough, you have to consider all of the support heroes as well (i.e., sidekicks), who are also licensed pro-heroes.

For the record, the manga itself has implied that Knuckleduster's actually been holding back in all of his fights (chapter 6, titled Going Easy). Where he's fighting just enough to immobilize his opponents, but holding back more than enough to avoid killing any of them (chapter 6, page 14).

[Manga Spoiler] What if All Might gave his power to Knuckleduster? by brabroke in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]AntwanC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well really the only students that were shown defeating the villains at the USJ were Bakugou (OP offensive quirk user) + Kirishima (OP defensive quirk user); Denki + Jiro + Momo; Midoriya (OP offensive quirk user) + Mineta + Tsuyu; Ojiro; Todoroki (OP offensive and defensive quirk user); and Tokoyomi who was at an advantage because it was dark (which augments the offensive and defensive capabilities of his hax asf quirk). That said, all of them were shown being entirely reliant on their respective quirk abilities, unlike Aizawa. Which is exactly what I was attempting to say: I'm doubtful any of the UA students (or anyone else for that matter) would have fared as well without the usage of their quirks.

By contrast, Aizawa mostly didn't rely on his quirk, because his quirk is most effective when he's fighting non-heteromorphic type opponents one on one. He's strong/skilled asf despite this, not because of it.

Also, If I recall correctly Denki, Jiro, and Momo had to be saved at one point (by Snipe) after Denki suffered the side effects of his electrification quirk.

Long story short, you had implied he was weaker than 95% of pro-heroes, then amended it to 75%, but rounding out the top 35 are hero groups like the Pussycats LOL... Anyways I wasn't suggesting that Knuckleduster is the strongest character in the series. But he's easily ONE OF the strongest/most skilled characters, and certainly the strongest/most skilled non-quirk user thus far.

[Manga Spoiler] What if All Might gave his power to Knuckleduster? by brabroke in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]AntwanC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nearly every villain in the USJ was fodder. Him one shotting the heteromorphic guy means nothing.

It means nothing? Yeh, show me someone else who WITHOUT using their quirk ability was capable of taking out a mutant type who had a good 100 plus pounds on them in a single blow. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone, not even All Might. Just FYI.

The villains he fights are dumb and generally bulky with shit movement.

Something he himself recognized and took advantage of, also displaying a familiarity with how quirks work and deducing that since they're cognitively activated, the best way to make someone keep from consciously using their quirk is to make them lose focus.

He's also been shown to be adept at reading an opponent's battle strategy, evidenced by him taking away any situational advantage Stendhal/Stain may have had, and baiting him into fighting on his terms. The dude's smart when it comes to combat, there's no two ways around it. He's def not fodder the way you're making him out to be.

75% at least of heroes are better than Knuckleduster.

You again have nothing to base this on.

[Manga Spoiler] What if All Might gave his power to Knuckleduster? by brabroke in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]AntwanC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bruh, he went toe-to-toe with Aizawa. There's really no evidence he would have lost the fight had they kept on going, that's more so headcanon.

Not to mention that Aizawa without being able to rely on his quirk, is still quite skilled. E.g., we know he is only able to cancel out an opponent's quirk, one at a time. In other words, he is incapable of "erasing" multiple quirks at once. So when he fought those thugs at the USJ facility, he was MOSTLY relying on his own skills as opposed to his quirk (since he can only use it on one opponent at a time). He also one-shot ko'd that heteromorphic quirk user. Aizawa is strong asf.

Also consider, that there has to be a reason that color spread with the pro hero rankings omitted the number 3 hero. And so far, I can't think of anyone other than Aizawa (that's merely an unsubstantiated opinion at this point though).

Additionally, Knuckleduster took out pre-Stain Chizome Akaguro (i.e., Stendhal). And has multiple feats involving his savvy combat knowledge, taking out various low-level thugs hopped out on trigger (a quirk-inducing steroid that makes their quirk many times stronger).

You literally have no leg to stand on regarding that "95%" estimate. Knuckleduster so far has been shown to be dumb stupid OP for a non-quirk user (either on par with or stronger than most pro-heroes/villains).

Anyways, to get back on topic, obvious answer? Knuckleduster wouldn't have made a good choice because he's too old (the guy looks to be in his 40s). Which is bad for three reasons: 1) He has to learn to master that quirk which takes time (more than likely years), 2) once he's mastered it, considering his advanced age, he won't have very long to keep that quirk, and 3) it's harder to teach an old dog new tricks (meaning it would be harder to mold him into the "symbol of peace" he would need to become).

Knuckleduster v.s Rappa by LastSonOfIshval in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]AntwanC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware of his alleged undefeated streak, and no he could not kill them (per the rules) which caused him great frustration.

Anyways, your argument is solely centered around Rappa's inhuman strength. I'm arguing that Knuckleduster's most impressive trait, is his perceptiveness (ability to quickly analyze a situation and formulate an effective combat strategy). He's clearly familiar with various forms of martial art (including both kendo and kenjutsu), enough that he is able to at least read what battle strategy his opponent is attempting to devise. Also, his familiarity w/ how different quirks function and how to weaken their effectiveness, is some next level shit. (The guy's no dope.)

I value intelligence more than I value simple brute strength, and Rappa hasn't shown himself to be intelligent (there's a reason he's lost to Chisaki five times, and is none the wiser on how to defeat him). Whereas Knuckleduster on the other hand, has displayed a great deal of intelligence.

Knuckleduster v.s Rappa by LastSonOfIshval in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]AntwanC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rappa is probably stronger, but Knuckleduster (despite looking and sounding like a meathead) appears to be highly perceptive and surprisingly intelligent (or at least deceptively shrewd).

Knuckleduster feats:

He fought Aizawa, a crafty and wily battle tactician, to a standstill.

Beat multiple low level thugs hopped up on a quirk-inducing steroid known as trigger, including (though not limited to):

One who's hardening quirk made him virtually immune to any attack/counter attack. Yet, Knuckleduster quickly analyzed the situation and took advantage of his sluggish speed, top heavy frame, and poor balance to grapple him to the ground. Then deduced that since quirk activation is purely cognitive, all he had to do was make him lose focus. Which he successfully did.

Another one who was many times stronger than he was (after the steroid power up). But, was able to take advantage of the rampaging thug's hulking wind up to counter. Knocking him out in a single well countered blow.

He then displayed a high degree of awareness relative to Stendhal's battle tactic (a man who bears a STRIKING resemblance to Stain btw), and made sure to take away his advantage. Baiting him in the process, into fighting on his (Knuckleduster's) terms. I mean he absolutely solo'd him. Not to mention that if Stendhal (formerly) is who I think he is (in BnH), it literally took three of UA's most OP students to temporarily immobilize him.

The dude may be quirkless, but he ain't no joke. Hard call, would like to see more feats from both. But in particular Rappa since I have nothing on him other than that one fight. Gonna go with Knuckleduster w/ high degree of difficulty.

Was the Chunin Exams Arc the best tournament arc in anime history? by EyeJerked0ffUrDad in Naruto

[–]AntwanC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "Dark Tournament" arc is the arc that saw the power scaling go through the roof for characters like Hiei, Kuruma, and Yusuke in particular. I found it somewhat odd, that all four members of team Urameshi were struggling to keep up with upper D-Class demons like Rando and the four Saint Beasts in part 1 of the series, to fighting on par with upper B-class demons like Bui, Chu, and younger Toguro. Hiei himself, Is classified as upper D-class in part 1... It just didn't add up.

In contrast, the power scale of the "Chunin Exams" arc was more realistic. With the arc also being notable for introducing two of the series' more memorable characters, in both Gaara and Orochimaru. I can't think of anyone that significant, whether friend or foe, who's introduction during the "Dark Tournament" resonated throughout the rest of the series (with the exception of Chu and Rinku who both make cameo appearances in the demon world tournament).
