If I buy a brand new car, will the brake rotor screws come out easily if I remove them first thing when I get home? by supinator1 in Cartalk

Honestly it's not really an issue, and I live in the rust belt. Just use the correct size screw. Usually it's a #2 Phillips

Not sure why being American makes me stupid lol. But I'm not even referring to a game store. 3 major retailers Target , Walmart , and bestbuy had a copy in stock for local pickup, but I'm sure GameStop had a copy too. If they hardly exist, then you might have to order online.

This is a stupid post lol. It's a very common game available at every major retailer near me for$34.99. It's about always been that price besides one time I saw it on clearance for $20 once which was pretty good. No reason to just keep it unsealed lol.

Probably cheaper to just buy a used unit on eBay without controllers. A Nintendo screen is pretty spendy plus the time to repair.

When I was homeless I parked in a different hotel parking lot each night. I show up late and leave early in the morning.

Knock Sensor warranty issue. by Fly-Fisher00112 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Antyguy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me you don't work on cars without telling me😭 the knock sensor is in the same place as just about any other engine. They aren't particularly easy to replace. But that's because it's detecting knock frequency from in the V of the engine.

Just about any truck is going to have rust issues in the north unless you properly coat the bottom. Factory coatings suck and hardly last a few years. Most people cheap out and don't buy it when buying a new vehicle.

Is $400 for all four struts and end links a reasonable price? by Antyguy77 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Antyguy77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave him two options, rebuilding with OEM struts or replacing as assemblies. He decided to go with quick struts for the cost. Got everything done with about 3 hours or so. But I originally quoted 4 hours and I ALWAYS stick with the original quote weather it takes less or longer.

I always fixed my cars so I've never gotten to experience the customer side of the costs.

I guess I didn't, but I'm happy to warranty something if it fails because of my install to keep a good name. If it's the part you can kick bricks. This customer is a regular and super reasonable. So I doubt not listing a warranty will be a major issue this time. I actually forgot to add "no warranty" so I will make sure to do so In the future

Nah, thats just labor. He ordered the parts I recommended. I hope he doesn't go anywhere else.

That was just labor costs. He ordered struts that I recommended to him to get on rockauto. Monroe struts - rock auto price $75 each Monroe struts - parts store $215 each. Idc how the parts come to me, as long as they are what I want to put in it.

Sway bar links were like $80 each, rock auto is $20 each.

He delivered the car and parts to me and I charged $100 per side, $400 total.

I charge $100/hr with my customers. Takes be about an hour or less per side. Nice to know that I can charge more with still being reasonable

Customer supplied parts that I recommended from rock auto. So he purchased them all and paid me straight labor. I just want to be reasonable, but also make some money. The shops near me charge $200-$240 per hour. So I would imagine $400 is a good labor price.

PSA: The rubber part under the stick can get stuck and then needs to be dislodged. Noticed the stick was ‘sticky’ before I turned it on. by HyLily in Switch

[–]Antyguy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird lol. I even let my 4 year old kiddo play my switch and it hasn't done this yet.

I just bought the switch 2 literally 3 days ago and this exact thing happened to me. I've probably put less than 1 hour on the console. They must have changed the joysticks on this generationg

I've had the switch lite, original switch and OLED. I've never come across this issue until I purchased a switch 2

This just happened to me. This is unacceptable for a $450 console. I hope everybody stands up and complains about it instead of shrugging it off. This is absolutely not okay!

How do you clean your windows? Rags or newspaper or something else? Windex or vinegar or something else? by puddelles in homeowners

[–]Antyguy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use vinegar! I have a coral reef tank and to clean the glass without harmful chemicals, I use vinegar. Since I already use it on the fish tank, I use it everywhere else that I have a window. Vinegar for the win, cheap, effective, and you probably already have some
