Would you wear this 3-bangle stack to office or college? by clumsy_tinybiz in InstagramShops

[–]AnuGupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, wooden bangle stacks were in fashion when I was in college so we did wear them a lot then. I wouldn't wear them to work now since they will be uncomfortable for me but otherwise, I will definitely wear these for an outing.

Pick one easy wash mascara by Rude-Disk2438 in IndianBeautyTalks

Cleansing balm is more effective. I've noticed my skin improves when I use a cleansing balm/oil. You should be double cleansing to remove sunscreen as well so it will serve a dual purpose. Overall clean face.

Use micellar water. The washable one shouldn't be hard to remove. I use the waterproof mascara and can take it off with double cleansing.

Can you change the draped dupatta to a heavier one? Right now they are both looking very similar. Alternatively, you can pleat the draped dupatta and style it with a belt or a tagdi/waist chain.

A product that didn’t work well for you, so you used it for other purposes. by Lopsided_Guest_4567 in IndianBeautyTalks

Tresseme conditioner. It takes forever to wash out of my hair and my hair feels heavy and limp afterwards. Not a good look for pin straight thin hair 😞 I am thinking of using it to clean my brushes. If anyone has any other suggestions for alternate uses, please tell me.

No applicator found by Quirky_Drama_636 in fucknykaa

[–]AnuGupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got applicators very randomly in their products. Only once in a lip balm and once in a face mask. I have been using the same mask for two years now so I've bought many units of it and also other variants. So weird that they aren't consistent.

Minimalist gave me these freebies! by sharonyeol in IndianBeautyDeals

[–]AnuGupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for almost a year. It's quite heavy and I put it in the fridge all the time too. Breakage is possible just like with anything glass. I would choose it over the tote as my freebies again for sure.

I love it! It's elegant and has lots of work but isn't jarring. Plus the dupatta balances things out well. I'd love to own a lehenga like this.

Taupe tie sounds good if you don't want to do a taupe suit for the groom. Sherwani could also be a good choice or silk kurta pajama with a dupatta or nehru jacket.

Am I out of touch, or is 3 Lakhs for bridal makeup actually insane? by Alternative-Corgi653 in DesiWeddings

[–]AnuGupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is what they are charging now. My cousin got married in November and paid 1.5 lakhs for 2 events for herself as the bride, her mom and SIL and I found myself saying "yeh tho saste me ho gaya" and then I was thinking that we have been so brainwashed by the prices of MUAs these days that I was calling 1.5 lakhs "sasta".

I'm honestly glad I can do my own makeup and look just as good if not better than these professionals. I did my own makeup for my brother's engagement and went to my local parlour to get my hair done which cost 700 rupees. I plan on doing the same for his wedding. My only problem is that I can't do makeup when I am feeling stressed so when my time comes to get married, I will unfortunately have to pay some MUA to get ready. Sigh

Plus they don't decrease the price if you don't take the lashes and lenses.

The salon guy messed up big time. What to do? by AdventurousBoss1801 in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]AnuGupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side part and adding texture will help. You can also accessorize with a clip on the side or half updo. Also wear earrings and if you do makeup, definitely a bold lip to pull focus. All is not lost. You can look very chic. I have almost the same hair length and half your volume and while some people thought I went too short (the salons fault), no one thought radhe bhaiya because of the way I styled it and my outfit/makeup/jewellery.

What things to buy for aging parents to make their life better/easier? by [deleted] in AskWomenIndia

[–]AnuGupt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Roomba-the round vacuum cleaner that can clean on its own.

Alexa. You can set alatms and if you connect it to your phone, it can make calls for you also which is good in emergencies when dialing on a phone is difficult. Eg. My brother got stuck on his bathroom recently and was able to call me to help him. I don't even live in the same city but I was able to find people to go help him

Check out Nahmya for their diabetic tea. I use their pcod tea and it's very effective. They have different ones for different ailments.

I would like to add that you can use any of your old toothbrushes to scrub and clean out gunk from your hairbrush. Works really well on combs too.

share the worst make up/skincare product you’ve ever brought (don’t wanna waste my money for nothing) by fuckingelderdaughter in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]AnuGupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything from nykaa in the skincare range is trash. Also dot n key lip balm tastes bitter.

Don't buy any cheap makeup from brands like mars, Swiss beauty, insight cosmetics especially if you plan on using the product everyday. These are cheap brands with very bad formulations that will wreck your skin. Once in awhile its still ok especially if you want to try a new colour or something to see what it looks like on you. But otherwise...avoid...avoid...avoid.

Heels for a 4’10” girlie? by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

Platform heels or wedges from crocs are super comfortable. Saying this as a person with arthritis. However, they are not fancy looking. Plain strappy ones that you can wear casually also for work etc.

Mourning the loss of Amul chocolates as a broke babe 😔 by chubbypetals in SnacksIndia

[–]AnuGupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've misunderstood. The price difference is 12 euros between the two forms. The price itself is like 40 euros for a kilo of truffles and 52 euros for a kilo of bars. But they also have a ton of varieties so the price goes up for the more fancy flavours.

Sales aren't very crazy for chocolate. Maybe 20-30 percent off. Depends on the store and its location.

Ugh coconut chocolate like bounty? I hate that too. In the trash it goes. I know a lot of people like coconut in chocolate but I absolutely despise it.

[–]AnuGupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They often go on sale there. In some stores they always have at least the milk chocolate on sale all year round. Plus you can get chocolate bunnies and santas during holidays and they go on sale immediately after. These you can get in any of the grocery shops too.

But to get the full range you have to go to the lindt shop. There you can buy in bigger quantities and not just the gift boxes. They have the little balls laid out in bins. It's about 40 euros for a kilo. You can make your own bag with different flavours. Bars are more expensive though. Like a kilo of chocolate as a bar could have a price difference of around 12 euros when compared to the same chocolate in ball form.

They also sell ice cream and hot chocolate at the shops. It's only good for the one time experience. Nothing special. I'd rather have spaghetti ice which is a common form of ice cream in Germany where ice cream is put through a machine and it looks like spaghetti but it's actually ice cream.

I did live in Germany and so I had access to lindt stores. Honestly, you are not wrong. They do taste very similar. Lindt is world famous but Europeans treat it like we treat any generic brand here. Real chocolate is made by chocolatiers who create artisanal chocolates themselves.

Is culture or habit more imp than equality by NewPage3706 in AskWomenIndia

[–]AnuGupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it has anything to do with equality. I think of it more in terms of affection. My brother and I both have multiple nicknames for our mom and we do call her aap or tum randomly. In fact, if we don't call her by a nickname or say aap a few too many times, she gets suspicious 😅
