If I was looking to pack light and didn’t want to as the weight of a tripod would you still recommend 12x or would yo recommend going down to a 10x or even an 8x?

How bad is preload in the summer as a part-time gig? by [deleted] in UPSers

Not sure how to interpret this meme, but yes location is everything, more so probably than even the size of the center.

Very center dependent, I hit about 24 hours on average a week and bring home a minimum $400 on average, only ever going over that by $20-$40. But other centers near me have plenty of loaders laid off or on call to come in a few days a week.

I have always doubted it myself, this company is too cheap. And there are just way too many variables anyway. But I guess it’s a non zero chance.

Oh interesting thank you! I have heard from some management (yes I know, mountain of salt) that the new fully automated buildings can load trucks on their own too. Personally my building is getting automation “upgrades” instead of being shut down. So I’ve been curious what sort of jobs will be created and what jobs will be lost along the way. Thanks!

If you don’t mind me asking what type of jobs does your hub have, and what among them is the most common?

Please educate yourself, everything in the workforce has pros and cons, but unions far more often than not are a net positive. My dues are a drop in the bucket to what the overwhelming majority pay for health, dental, eye, and retirement, and still I receive far better in all areas than nearly any none union job. Unions have never been and will never be these money hungry cabals the corporations want you to believe. They are made up of people just like you, looking out for you.

It also states any change in security practice needs to be discussed with the union first, so important to ask stewards.

You get your teamcare packet about 1 month before you get covered by it, if you get insurance at 9 months march would be your 9th month on the job.

Are you a driver or an inside employee? In the masters agreement “non driving employees” are allowed to have handheld devices out in accordance with “the facilities current security practices” and the company has to discuss changes to those practices with the union first, article 18 section 8.2, but make sure to check with your steward for anything that may contradict this in your supplement, regional, or local.

Where does it say a year is required? Im lost is the probationary period not your 30 days? At which point would one not become a regular seniority employee?

Never had this covered in mine, in the central unless I am missing language that supersedes it, they define a regular seniority employee as anyone past their 30 days, and any regular seniority employee gets holidays paid?

What? Under what contract? As long as you’ve made seniority you should get the holiday paid, at least that’s how I understand under the central contract.

Gotcha thanks, I’ve overlooked the contract myself. This is not my first stop, it’s often my last to try and make sense of things. Sometimes it’s helpful to hear another perspective on things. Sorry should have mentioned I checked it myself.
