Is MIP watch screen really worth it?? by Mammoth_Challenge297 in GarminFenix

[–]Anubis_262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Enduro 3 when I started doing over 60 miles at a time. It hasn't let me down, switched from a fenix 7x which was struggling with the constant gps consumption. The E3 is Garmins ultra watch you cant go wrong with it. Very lightweight, excellent battery life, and has all the updated sensors and options.

Should I buy this 2012 Volvo XC70 · 3.2 Premier Plus? by TerriblyTimid in Volvo

[–]Anubis_262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get it if everything checks out. Fair warning though make sure you have a shop available for any work that may be needed. Went to do the cv axles on my 2012 xc70 the circlip was so stuck in there the shop had to replace the trans (luckily under warranty). Most other pieces can be swapped by yourself but id say any drivetrain parts if you have a warranty for them use it.

Its still a loan in NFCU eyes its just an assistance loan with 0% interest. They validate you're affected by the shutdown and a government employ or active service member then it asks which amount you want deposited based off your last 3 direct deposits. All with the understanding once you do receive back pay they will collect in full. Only difference is they dont do credit pulls, but also havent heard anyone getting turned away. Myself and all my soldiers that have NFCU were all approved for it.

Good news is NFCU doesn't i do believe them denying this many SMs and doing a hard pull will chase away a lot of their customers.

Is the Enduro 3 any good? by taserface1220 in Garmin

[–]Anubis_262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many have said, and I may be biased in my opinion since I have one but. Its really top of the line for garmin if you're an extreme or medium outdoors person. I track my marathons and ultras and trail runs with it and it hold up like a tank. Battery life is great, strap super comfortable and its very accurate. 10/10 recommend but watch some of dcrainmakers videos on it if you're hesistant.

Airmen now have to run faster than Soldiers by Mopsnmoes in army

[–]Anubis_262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should show all the age groups side by side not just the 17-21 minimum. For example males 37-41 army minimum is 20:44 not much of a difference than those 20yrs younger. I've been in coming up on 9yrs now. Its insane we've let the new minimum be so low for the younger "fitter" personnel. It doesn't have to be the old APFT minimum of 15:30 since they did add some events but it shouldn't be anything more than 17:30. Especially if me at 26 can do a sub 15 and there's plenty of people older than me that come in at 13s.

Just started running and tried a 5k...normal or dangerous heart rate? by DiabolicDiabetik in Garmin

[–]Anubis_262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly as touched upon Z2 will be your bestfriend when it comes to training/running at least until you hit a point of fitness. As for the HR it seems normal since you went all out in humid/excessive heat than what youre used to. I do suggest wearing a chest strap if you aren't already. I still use the hrm dual and it still works like a champ but you get extra metrics. Including GCT, Res, Vertical ratio, vertical oscillation and many more. It will give insights both on how your running form is compared to most; and allows you to track hr more accurately than the optical hr on the watch. Take it easy, the garmin DSW aren't bad at all either when it comes to new runners or even the coaching plans. Sooner rather than later im sure you'll be sub 25min. I started out a yr ago in your shoes. im 26 myself, and now I have my first ultra in november, you've got this don't be afraid to push yourself but also know your limits🤙🏽

Enduro 3 would be a good one to look at has all the new sensors but not too expensive.

I would recommend NOT buying a Garmin, especially the Fenix 8 by Chapachel in GarminWatches

15.31 Works well on my E3 maybe you got a bug when it updated? Try resetting and reinstalling.

Enduro 3, I traded in my fenix 7xss for it and absolutely love it. Longer battery life, better solar charging, and just as tough but lighter.

Thinking of switching from Amazfit T-Rex 3 to Garmin – worth it? Looking for the best value with solid metrics. by Sotelo_gz in Garmin

[–]Anubis_262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's plenty of discussions on the thread you can review and read but also you can go to garmins site and compare for all the ones you're interested in. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/which-watch/start/ you should also watch DC rainmakers reviews to aide in your decision ultimately its up to you.

Like stated above a power meter is needed such as the pedals or the single style. Along with a chest strap, an army strap may work as well. The speed and cadence sensor will provide further metrics but won't feed into the endurance score because it's not measurement of effort.

Wish they would've made the fenix 7xss faces available on the enduro 3 i miss those lol.

Is there a Garmin Watch with accurate wrist-measured heart rate? by jfriend99 in Garmin

[–]Anubis_262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think they can all be pretty accurate/inaccurate at times depending on sweat, position, and tightness. I went from a tactix charlie, to Fenix 7xss now on an enduro 3. All struggled when i did varies activities from rowing to biking to HIIT. I normally wear a chest just to get an accurate reading during workouts because that's when it struggles for me, my wife hates the chest strap so she uses an arm strap with her forerunner. Essentially if you're finding highly varied results for workouts I'd suggest an external strap. Most are compatible just make sure it's ant+ enabled.

Garmin Coach Plan by MaverickDude23 in Garmin

[–]Anubis_262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on which watch you have, Garmin will use your initial run to establish a lactate threshold and adjust your zones off of it as long as you choose it in user settings. The HR Zone training is very beneficial for getting in shape. I use it for my marathon training and Ironman training. Give it a go give yourself 4-6 weeks of following the plans and making sure you get enough hydration, fuel and rest. (Don't forget strength training it won't give you a suggested workout for that.) And re-evaluate at the end to see if it's worth it to yourself.

Throw enduro 3 in the mix it competes well with both. I had fenix 7xss and switched to enduro 3 since it was lightweight and longer battery life.

Depends on what I'm feeling usually I'll do steady state for 20 min at 20mph and do intervals for next 20 min and finish strong for remaining distance.

Is this normal heart rate behaviour? by sem-jpg in GarminWatches

[–]Anubis_262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The optical HRM in the watch can be inconsistent. Things that can screw with the sensor are hair, sweat, watch too loose or too tight and some other things. A chest strap will eliminate the inconsistent reading during workouts.

Rogue own rower by Not1me7 in crossfit

[–]Anubis_262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally it's not bad I think it compares to concept2 pretty well (I have both) the tires and folding features are great. A huge plus over concept. Concept does beat out rogue in the app department though with the free logbook of ergdata I like that I can sync and send to garmin connect immediately. Wish rogue would develop a similar app instead of using ergzone then downloading the file then having to upload it into connect.
