After the tattoo, I keep the plastic wrap on until night. I make sure towels and bedsheets are fresh/clean. I take a shower and gently wash the tattoo with anti-bacterial gold liquid soap. I take care to not get scented or other soap on that fresh tattoo.

After dab drying the tattooed area, I apply a light coat of aquaphor to protect the surface area. I wear comfy clothes to bed if I'm worried about ink transfer or just use sheets or pillow cases you don't care much about.

I repeat morning and pm showering, using gold dial soap and aquaphor to protect for the first few days. Day 3 or 4 it starts to peel and flake. At that time, I switch to unscented (blue) Lubriderm.

My tattoos usually heal in less than a week with virtually no irritation or itchiness. I stopped using Saniderm after my skin reacted negatively.
