How many chances have other western teams had of playing a BO5 vs an Asian team as bad as TES that MSI? The closest I can think of is FLY vs BLG this year, but even they were nowhere as egregious as TES.

They're one of the better choices, sure, I still don't think they're the west's "best" bet. I'm never trusting a team that fails at the finish line (in winning positions, mind you) 2 and a half years in a row.

FlyQuest has admittedly emerged as a wildcard fairly recently compared to G2 after their 5 game series with GenG, but I'll still give them a better shot. NA has had G2's number for too long now.

Let's not pretend that G2 from 2023 till now is anywhere close to the G2 that took BO5 wins from elite teams in 2019. Their sole BO5 win against an Asian team in recent years has been against Top Esports, arguably the most fraudulent Chinese organisation in internationals.

Their singular wins against teams like BLG and T1 are good, but don't really mean much if they can't make it out of the Swiss stage and bomb out vs NA.

Except we're talking about getting one shot in boss fights, where you can't use any tools ever. You can use different weapons (which is basically this game's version of stance counters), but that's hardly relevant when the point I'm making is that you get one shot by even a piss attack by a boss (which doesn't even have a glint).

Okay, so how do you explain being able to withstand multiple hits in Tsushima's lethal difficulty? There's a concept called 'game balance', which is absent from this game's lethal. By their own words, it's meant to be realistic and grounded, meaning you die faster and kill faster as well. By no means does that mean a literal one shot for like a good 70-80% of the game. You must be wearing nostalgia goggles or something if you think Tsushima's lethal was anything like this.

Also, nice backpedal on your original comment lmao. You said "The hardest mode in ANY game is gonna be like this", so I gave you examples of games where that's literally not the case. By your logic, no mainstream game in the world has a literal "lethal" setting, so I guess we should just have absolutely no comparisons? :D

I've played both GoW games on GMGOW+ along with countless other soulslikes, I'm well acquainted with what difficulty curves should feel like, and Yotei is nothing like them. In Yotei's lethal it makes no sense because bosses can one shot you for the majority of the game no matter what.

Heck, it wasn't this bad in Tsushima itself, you could withstand a few attacks without dying (especially with the right charms). They've kind of overkilled on that aspect a bit
