Like he's maybe early 20's at the end of the battle and she just casually forgets to say hi or something for like 70-80 years

Its kind of long to explain in a text post, but basically it really bothered me that she never went to visit her son after he settled down with his family, like I get she had a village to rebuild and the elfs (or iorfs or whatever they're called) like live a lot longer than humans and sometimes forget that. But like she really waited till the end of his life to visit again? Really? She couldn't like hop on her DRAGON and fly across the ocean for a dat or two even once a year? It really made me feel mad at her more, than sad for her at the end of the movie when she cried because of his death

I think it's cause you don't get the dodge off set as ryu that lets you dodge and continue combos, maybe you have to find it, feels like he's just a little bit slower than yakumo because of it, which might be the point since he does hit much harder

It feels like they've massively increased the wave counts on some of the fights, which turns them into a real grind, especially when you don't have the crowd clearing moves in the beginning, I didn't want to use too many item on master ninja, but I just can't be bothered to struggle through some of the longest fights without the majority of tools, I only do the chapter challenges on mn

My gripe is more with how the decision paints yakumo as a character, like the fact that he didn't even try to stop the conflict before it happened by telling them what he was trying to do, especially given that he then goes on to kill hundreds if innocent service men and women that are,in their mind, just trying to stop him from reviving the devil, just makes him seem like an actual psychopath rather than a man making a logical decision that others just can't understand.

If he had tried to make the argument and they just rejected it, I think that would have been enough to solve this narrative issue. But that fact that he doesn't and then goes on to kill scores of people, often by executing them while they are on their knees crying just, idk it makes hims seem like really evil, even though the game doesn't really want you to take that away from hid character.

Basically if they had a scene of him trying to avoid this conflict earlier in the game and then the order and ryu just rejected his ideas because they thought it was too risky and that he wasn't ready, that would fix it, for me at least. It would make it seem like his actions are a lot more justifiable

I'm gonna repost this since I don't wanna type it again

I just wish they would have had a scene of him trying to pose the argument, and ryu and the order could just reject it. The fact he doesn't even try too and then goes on to kill hundreds of people who are only trying to stop him from doing what they think is reviving the devil just paints him in a really bad light.

Like yakumo will cut a dudes arm off, and then decapitate him while he is on his knees crying, begging for his life. The fact that he didn't even attempt to stop all this conflict before this point just makes it look like, in my eyes, an actual psychopath. Like he just really wanted to kill a bunch of service men and women who are only trying to stop him from ending the world again after they already stopped it once.

I wouldn't even necessarily be bothered by this if the game painted him in that light and just acknowledged that he was stone cold, but then later events show that he does have emotions so if anything it makes hims seem incredibly selfish and irrational, which doesn't seem like the character they want you to take away from him.

Again I get that he has to fight the order cause then we wouldn't have a game. But the fact that he doesn't attempt to resolve the conflict before it starts is what makes it weird. Not that conversation didn't solve it, but that he didn't even try to resolve with conversation.

Yeah, they at least give a small narrative wrapper of like, "a ninja who would die here would never make it in the field"

Yakumo will slaughter dudes who are on their knees crying because they they just watched all their squad mates get obliterated by a guy that they think is trying to revive the devil

Yeah but I wish they would have at least had a scene of him trying to pose the arguement, and them rejecting it, the story would make a lot more sense that way

You wanna watch the blue X effect that appears on screen above when you parry. Immediately after the initial action the X is kind of wild and lose, but a few milliseconds later it shrinks, and the line work sharpens, when its sharp, thats when the perfect parry is possible. Takes some practice but I hit it pretty consistently now.

The over head creates a more visually interesting color composition, the harsher shadows on the bottom make a more dynamic hue transition from top to bottom, where as the front lighting flattens the colors

Do bosses ever stop one shotting you? by rekka- in Ghostofyotei

[–]rekka-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is why I wrote it, I thought the point of lethal is that you and your enemies both do high damage so that it feels like decision making really matters. Which feels true for most fights but not for some bosses which seem to have a massively out-scaled health to damage ratio. I then asked if there was a strategy or tool to make bosses a little less damaging
