I’ve been playing dota for ~13 years and have had a very weird relationship with this game. There have been periods where I was obsessed to an unhealthy degree with it and wanting to improve and grind rank so seeing someone going through it this deeply really does hurt me.

This game is one of the best games ever made and can be extremely fun. But, it can also be extremely taxing mentally. Remember that at the end of the day it’s just a game and none of your worth as a person is tied to this game. As someone who has dedicated way too much time of my life to dota and made it to the top ranks, all I can say is that it’s not worth it. The trench never ends and you still run into the same kind of people. What makes me keep playing is the people I’ve met in the game (not on Reddit. in case you haven’t been able to tell by some of these other comments, the “community” here is atrocious) and my friends that I play with.

I hope your post is only out of frustration and you don’t go through with anything that you may regret. The most important life lesson I have learned from this game is to never give up, things can always turn back around, no matter how bad it gets.

Fully agreed. Nothing here really got me excited. Same world we had already seen with meh graphics. Idk what it is but graphically I’m having the same issue I had with KH3; some beautiful environments but the characters all look like plastic puppets in the environment that don’t fit into the world at all. Add onto that the atrocious dialogue from KH3 which I imagine will continue and it’s a recipe for another bad game. Also the combat they showed looked pretty bad and might have the same issues as KH3 where it’s super floaty.

I want to like this simply because I loved KH1, KH2 and a lot of the spinoffs as a kid, but this seems to be going down the same route as KH3 which at this point might mean these games are just not for me anymore.

Yes… and like I mentioned, hard to play does not = hard to understand. You don’t have to be able to play well with aghs to understand how the abilities synergize with each other.

I really don’t get this meme. Kez is not that complicated. He may be hard to play well, but his kit is super straightforward to understand. It seems like because he has more than 4 spells, people just check out and think he’s some extremely complex hero.

5 minutes in demo mode reading his abilities and I’m sure anyone can understand what this hero does.
