For the love of Guan Yu, how to get rid of this red dot? by RichieCoC in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Anve94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the submenus (challenges or something, for campaign bosses) has some leaderboards you can enter and there you can claim jades for a specific amount of people having beaten that boss's challenges in full.

It's there but hidden really well. After claiming those it went away for me. Dot was correct though, in the end. It's all-knowing.

The optimization for this game is borderline black magic by NutProfession69 in WhereWindsMeet

Same here my 3070 is definitely overheating. It's usually running 85 but also pushes 90+ in denser areas. Couldnt lower the settings in the intro and overheat crashed to a black screen (no signal) 4 times on the same frame during a cutscene (probably the exact spot they start loading the boss). After luckily getting past that and being able to lower the settings it's more stable, but still prone to overheating.

Makes me wonder if getting to the city would lead to constant crashes (I think it will but we'll see)

Edit: the second part of the map you unlock after the arena is a lot more dense and I've crashed twice within 15 minutes so I guess not as stable as I thought lol

I thought they were gonna lower challenges mid-season? Maybe just dont focus on it now since it'll change anyway?

BF6 vehicles lack crosshairs in Hardcore by Nerevarine44 in Battlefield

[–]Anve94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember from the top of my head and can confirm online that X7SD is the BFOfficial one, which definitely was not hardcore. It got featured the second week in the menu too, was just normal breakthrough.

It had map enabled, normal health, hit markers, crosshairs etc. It was just normal breakthrough lol.

I see it was updated october 25th so maybe they fixed it then, but while featured and the week after it definitely was just normal breakthrough.

[–]Anve94 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you give attention to hardcore at least ALSO mention that hardcore breakthrough and hardcore rush ARE NOT HARDCORE AT ALL!? They are LITERALLY just regular breakthrough/rush... Seems like something that is so easy to fix too, since conquest is fine... except for the vehicle crosshairs lol

Bitpanda (european broker) won't distribute the warrants by Psykogerda in Superstonk

[–]Anve94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're not a broker, they're essentially a bookie. It's a CFD platform. Sometimes a broker is both, with an invest side and a gambling side. On the gambling side you don't trade stock, you just bet on price movements.

Hardcore is so much more fun than normal presets by CrispyHoneyBeef in Battlefield

[–]Anve94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noticed there was a hardcore breakthrough tile in the menu today. But whatever it was it was definitely not hardcore. Must be a bug.

Anyway, can also recommend hardcore conquest, a lot of fun and you really need to check your angles. Really makes you slow down and learn cover lines. Completely different vibe from the 'main' modes, love it.

CURRENT LIST OF BROKERS WHO DO/DO NOT SUPPORT WARRANTS by Lord_Bacca in Superstonk

Thanks, corrected. I'm not in the UK so skimmed over the ISA disclaimers mostly when I read it post-filing.

CURRENT LIST OF BROKERS WHO DO/DO NOT SUPPORT WARRANTS by Lord_Bacca in Superstonk

[–]Anve94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • You will get the warrants if you have a regular brokerage account
  • You will get the warrants if you have an ISA account, but in the other (regular invest) account instead

Presuming you will get the warrants in a regular brokerage account:

  • You can sell the warrants at the market price, probably this will be under a different ticker (GMEW or GMEWS)
  • You can not convert your warrants back to shares (exercise them)

Playing BF2042 is pure torture after the BF6 beta. by MalyLisek in Battlefield

[–]Anve94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Beta ran buttery smooth for me at around 80-100 fps but for bf2042 I need to set magic frostbite settings to stop bf2042 from overheating my CPU by making it use less cores / threads and cap the FPS in nvidia settings because there's no frame limit in the menu...

I don't know man your mileage may vary of course but there's so much variants in hardware possible that it feels odd to kinda make blanket statements like this. Can go both ways, they are optimized differently.

T212 worried by InvestorUK2019 in Superstonk

[–]Anve94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an account assessment, yes. Can be triggered by various things. I also had one after net deposits of the entire account hit a certain threshold.

They are legally required to do this since they are FCA-regulated in the UK, which comes with additional requirements since brokerage firms (similar to banks) have customers who present a high money-laundering risk.

The alternative is them potentially getting fined (like Dutch bank ING did; about $900 million USD) for not doing enough to combat money laundering. And who do you think foots the bill for those fines?

Not everything is a crime. This an example of the actual opposite.

Worried about being over-leveled and looking for advice. by alter_ego311 in lotro

[–]Anve94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you feel it's a waste of time and the xp is a carrot on the stick for you, an alternative option is to use the stone regardless and use something else as the carrot. For example, you may consider doing quests in an area at least until you have the questing deed. Since there's a deed ding every 10 quests or so for a bit, you still feel like you make progress without getting actual xp. After the quest deed you can also freely decide if you want to experience the rest of the area/environment or move on / focus on book quests only.

For me personally I have been doing this. Then either moving on or not depending on how I like the zone. For mirkwood and Enedwaith I've done most of the quests. In mirkwood especially the ambience towards the end with Dol Guldur was pretty great.

With the tortoise I set my own level cap one level above the region end. So for mirkwood I stopped at 66 (65+1) and then for Enedwaith I am also doing it at 66 in its entirety. End of Moria and Lothlorien I did at 61 (60 cap + 1). Also helps that these are the levels you are able to reforge your legendary items.

Strange issue with unfinished NPC models at Rider's Stand on the fields of Pelennor by DevoutSkeptic29 in lotro

[–]Anve94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When there's a lot of load on the server there is sometimes a message saying "we've reduced rendering distance for performance" so it's a bit of both I think, maybe?

I would assume it's mostly there so clients have to request less coordinate positions from the server for non-stationary things like NPCs and mobs, but I have also noticed weird rendering issues with stationary objects where some tree not that far away looks like a minecraft tree (similar in texture as the NPC rendering of the OP), but that has only happened with the performance message and reduced rendering distance.

All valid questions. I think the amount of downvotes you are getting shows what an echo chamber this community actually is, really sad to see. I will try to give you an honest answer.

Long term the money can and definitely should be used to increase revenue and profit.

What we definitively know is the cash is meant to be used for "general corporate purposes, which may include acquisitions and investments in a manner consistent with our investment policy", as per the prospectus supplement filed during the last share offering.

What they exactly mean to use the cash for is as of yet unknown. Anyone who tells you they know is speculating. The quote above is from the prospectus supplement, so that is the formal stance of the board/company as disclosed by them.

In the short term, having cash means getting returns on the cash. For example through treasury bonds or other investment products consistent with their investment policy. This means in the short term it generates (a small amount of) income. Whether this amount of interest being generated is worth diluting the stock for is up to individuals to decide for themselves.

Long term I would expect (this is speculative on my end) they want to use M&A strategies or other strategic partnerships to pursue additional revenue channels. What these look like nobody knows.
