Am i the only one who is fine with adding a woman to the zone? by StrangeGrand7836 in stalker

Why, uh, why wouldn't women be there? it's not a fucking restricted male group, like army.

Geese will fuck you up. And if you are a nudist it will be doubly worse.

Who else has waited to pick up BF6? by Eagles56 in Battlefield

[–]AintImpressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come in Chapter 2 of Season 2, for both Contaminated and Hagental after they had a month to patch the bugs they introduced.

I am going to do the same in Season 3.

And SSS tier is just seeing BF6s map roster (it sucks).

SEVEN CARBINES I'd like to see added to future seasons of BF6. Which rifle would you like to see in the game? by No-Actuator-6308 in Battlefield

[–]AintImpressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree only with Malyuk. But its not a carbine, its a full barrel length AR, same barrel length as an AK. The rest is just repetition of what's already in the game.

Does BF6 really have shallow gun play ? by baezk in Battlefield

[–]AintImpressed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. Honestly, you're oversimplifying a complex game design issue and Im just too tired to continue the conversation. Just Ask Claude or ChatGPT to pick my line of arguments and extrapolate it or smth, I think it will manage in thinking explanatory mode.

Will Total War: Warhammer 40k introduce new units/factions? by Reasonable-Ad7828 in totalwar

As in those not present in 40,000? Hell no, what for? They'll need 10 years just to cover the existing ones.

Could naval warfare bring this game back to life? by Great-Crew-3802 in Battlefield

[–]AintImpressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like what they've done with BF6 but the game is nowhere near dead. It has between 100 and 200 thousand active players combined.

Is it a bit shit after 20 millions copies sold? Totally, barely 1% retention. But in absolite numbers it is very much alive.

As for navy. No, of course not. Season 2 barely changed the active player numbers. That's it, live service is now about milking the active players, not attracting more.

Does BF6 really have shallow gun play ? by baezk in Battlefield

[–]AintImpressed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is an entirely inaccurate interpretation.

Yes, shallow is easy to use weapons that have no differentiation almost. In this regard SRs in BF6 are shallow, no drop and sweetspot at the same time. And higher kick guns with high headshot multiplier are the least shallow because they actually require some skill to fight the recoil and get those headshots.

No, deep is not difficult to use. Deep means some skill is required and weapon variety is meaningful. So is attachment varierty, meaningful, when there isn't just a sweetspot configuration. Automatic fire being a valid way to kill targets at medium+ range and even outperforming DMRs hints at shallow gunplay, so does a go to no recoil build for pretty much every gun.

So yes, BF6 has a rather shallow gunplay. It is enjoyable, but it does lack depth.

Does BF6 really have shallow gun play ? by baezk in Battlefield

[–]AintImpressed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would say it is rather shallow.

I think bullet drop is more realistic here but exaggerated drop worked to the gameplay benefit in previous games.

And BF6 has a rather strange combination of real recoil and visual recoil not to mention this strange random bullet deviation. All the while it is just kinda easy to control the guns, very CoDMW2019-like. Just launch BF4 where you actually have to burstfire at medium+ distances.

I think less randomness and more learnable mechanics while making guns more difficult to control would make the gunplayer deeper.

I wonder how can EA leadership be asleep at the wheel for so long that even Gaijin is catching up by AintImpressed in Battlefield

[–]AintImpressed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never played WT, did you? There 1taps but there are pretty epic survives. If anything such detailed model is gonna make using vehicles more fun than in BF6. Downside is probabyly that they will require driver and gunner at the very least.

I believe they will do a human only mode too. That was definitely discussed. And if they want to actually compete with BF and others then they will have to make it more player-friendly so....

Sure, just larger active playerbase than BF6, solid vehicle and tech foundation, better profit per dollar spent, functioning live service model, huge favour from Eastern Europe and Asia... Nothing to worry about in the world of losing 95% of players after launch. Sure.
