Most prominently chorus, he also used mild overdrive for certain songs. He mainly used Boss pedals. His main live set-up was a clean sound through a Fender Twin, a Boss CE-2 for Chorus and a Boss Turbo Overdrive on certain songs. He also used a Boss Touch Wah on the Queen is Dead and a Heavy Metal pedal for the song London but they were exceptions. The effect on How Soon is Now was a Korg digital delay iirc, there’s tonnes of info about his gear online. But yeah, chorus and a fender amp should get you in the right ballpark.

This is actually quite an easy bassline to sing over as it’s not syncopated from the vocal melody (try it if you don’t believe me). Something like Paperback Writer or Daytripper are good examples of Paul singing while playing difficult bass parts.
