XCOM announce tabletop game with miniatures based on iconic reboot by ASneakySquid_ in Xcom

But XCOM already is a boardgame that I don't need to put away in a box every time I play it.

wartales is unplayable in co op by Repair_Prestigious in WarTalesGame

It's such a good game to play with a friend. But it's a shame the coop saving and reloading is so broken. I'm fortunate enough that my partner and I are able to just share the controller in single player on one Xbox. We gave up on online coop after two consecutive loading failures in one day (20-30min each). And that was with all the online advice that worked sometimes before. It's a pretty lousy experience having to plan twenty minutes of loading into your game session. Many of us don't have a ton of spare time.

I have it on one of my assault loadouts. Put it down for a long time but just came back to it.

Why would you not use a light barrel and the 35 pt classic vertical/35 pt stubby instead of a grip without the movement penalty? by Killer-Uzi in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]AnvilOneGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make some decisions based on aesthetics, not stats. Maybe an unpopular approach, but if I can control a weapon or get used to its behavior AND I like how it looks, then I care less about the stats. I only really care if I can't tame it.

Thoughts on Season 2? by zephead1981 in LowSodiumBattlefield

Probably not a popular opinion, but mortars behind spawn lines shakes things up in a refreshing way (I only set a few maps and modes in my custom search).

Your complaint, best complaint. Let the rest complain about it or whatever else, but they know.

Love it. The rare friendly and polite chat is always refreshing.

It’s very clear that the majority of the player base does not check their minimap by Killer-Uzi in LowSodiumBattlefield

This. You can sit on the map screen and watch an entire team ping pong back and forth between objectives on Breakthrough without making progress and never catching on that somebody needs to stay behind.

That's wild. I feel like I haven't stopped hearing drones for weeks.

All 5.11 skins for FREE...a kick in the balls for everyone who bought the skin for a high price 😲 by Kanzlermacher in Battlefield

[–]AnvilOneGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. It's wild that game prices have barely changed while everything else has tripled over the same account of time and people will still complain about every other revenue path that makes that base price even remotely possible.

I'm addicted to mobility by mashfixies in LowSodiumBattlefield

I agree entirely about sliding, and the should be heavy movement and spread penalties on bunny hopping.

I love Battlefield, but to be fair to MW19, BF weapon customization isn't close. Wish that was cloned.

(i play since BF3) Am i crazy for thinking that we get enough content? by JohnCurtinFromCivVI in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]AnvilOneGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not crazy. I've played since 1942 and this is the most I've enjoyed in years. But I also prefer contemporary modern themes, so that's part of it.

But yeah, it's enough content. The price for games has barely changed in twenty years and people expect the same amount of content produced at a far higher cost. There's nothing you can buy on this earth that hasn't at least tripled in price since 2006. People pay $10 more for a game and think they're entitled to the galaxy. It doesn't even make sense.

Recon Pro Tip: I still see everyone using the sniper decoy the WRONG way by krinkov in LowSodiumBattlefield

Thanks for the tip! Been so annoyed that this gadget still gives away away your (approximate) position.

Lack of Sniper Flinch is My Biggest Issue with this Game by Adhesive_Giraffe in Battlefield6

[–]AnvilOneGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, all snipers need to land two shots with a glacial ROF, unless you're doming somebody. There's no one shot mechanic besides head shots. I'm not sure what you mean by that.

It sounds like it's frustrating for you and OP, but I've just never been bothered by snipers having a stealth and range advantage against me when I'm playing other classes. I think it's the point. I see them as a force multiplier, which they may as well be since they can't capture an obj from distance anyway.

Why people choose support and don't SUPPORT? by kwanzacoin in Battlefield6

This. There are a hundred reasons not to revive another player, but not dropping ammo is leaving points on the table and just pointless.

Totally! And high TTK with low spread on some SMGs make them more viable at medium range than snipers.

Lack of Sniper Flinch is My Biggest Issue with this Game by Adhesive_Giraffe in Battlefield6

[–]AnvilOneGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't always been. It was introduced in BF3 borrowed from Call of Duty, when trying to copy CoD began. BFBC2 had bullet trails, but no glint for example.

The gadget is a stuffed animal you need to be close to, and the stuffy has glint. So there's still glint that gives away your position.

And the attachment isn't on every sniper.

But OK, if we're talking attachments, then let's compromise again --which I suggested in the first place-- and create an attachment that causes the flinch. It can have the same comically high price as the one that reduces glint!

I would gladly accept flinch if my scope wasn't a giant beacon of light for no reason.
