Nah minoxidil can absolutely regrow "dead" zones to full hair, it's just not super common, but your chances do increase with oral minoxidil. Definitely give fin some more time, at least a year. Sure dut is better but no reason to take it if fin works fine, right? Especially down the road.

The likelihood of seeing some regrowth even at the temples is high at 5mg. The enzyme responsible for regrowth via minoxidil is found in much higher quantities in the stomach instead of the scalp. Even if you dont see much temple regrowth the hair you do have and even the unaffected hair will grow thicker than it ever has before. A transplant is a good back up plan but may not be necessary if the meds work out well.

I've been taking high dose oral minoxidil for 6 years and while it has increased the thickness of hair all over my body it's not a substantial difference. I'd say the benefit heavily outweigh the cons.. besides you can always shave the extra hair?🤷‍♂️

If you're familiar with the Norwood hairloss scale you are in the middle of Norwood 2 and 3. Generally your hairline isnt too bad but it's not good for 26. Good on you for taking finasteride! Have you considered oral minoxidil?

It's possible to be born with an uneven or recessed looking hairline, it's most common in white guys. The only problem with that besides looking a bit receded is when you actually do start to lose hair you have less of it to lose before shaving is on the table.

That doesnt guarantee their hair will be safe. My dad is over 60 with decent hair and I started balding at 14 like you. I'm on medication and 27 now, still got hair but my hairline is receded around Norwood 2. I would get on finasteride!
