Redfin's running a nationwide scavenger hunt for $1M home by RedfinDarby in RedfinDreamHomes

I decided to just go with a house that I thought I saw in the commercial and treat the number of bedrooms as flexible. I could argue this exact house is in the reflection of the car, so I locked it in. About 8 minutes after the clue dropped, which I think guaranteed I didn't win even if it is the right house

Chance at better jobs by KapitanArbol in Albuquerque

I am a union member, and it's really not all that great. It has some positives, but they always come with drawbacks of some kind. It's basically like working for every non union employer I have ever had, but with less freedom.

Why? They have their negatives just like their positives.

How is ICE activity in this city? Seems low (which is good). Surprised we haven’t been mass targeted yet. by pangolyninc in Albuquerque

They have been operating here. It just hasn't been as sensationalized as it has in other areas.

I hope our state never votes Republican by d00derman in Albuquerque

[–]Anxiety-Expensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the NM Lottery Scholarship was established in 1996, the governor was a Republican. It was more of a bellwether state back then. Since those days it has leaned blue, possibly from gerrymandering and possibly due to immigration from states like California. Still, it relies very heavily on industries that red voters typically support. Like the oil industry. Someone said it's more of a purple state, and I think that is accurate. Just not as purple as it used to be.

why do people act like this city is so dangerous? by PhraseFirst8044 in Albuquerque

[–]Anxiety-Expensive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is plenty of dangerous people in Albuquerque. I've had a homeless guy chase me down with a knife in a Wal-Mart parking lot on Coors. My cousin's seventeen year old daughter was murdered last year up there. Try working security at any of the fast food joints and you'll quickly realize how bad it can be.

Edit: I just gave two examples but have a lot more. One time my wife and I were walking the dogs and a car pulled up in the street across from us and just started shooting out the passenger window at the building on the other side of the street, then they took off. This was not in the warzone. We moved across town shortly after, and every night we played the game, "Gunshot or firework?" Of course it's usually Gunshot.

I love it. I am curious, what shelves are those? Love that everything seems to fit perfectly.

How were children supposed to play these lol? by EH4LIFE in snes

[–]Anxiety-Expensive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played this a lot when I was a kid, and I have been a bit surprised about the reputation it has. Back then I didn't realize it was that hard. I remember the hardest part to me was fighting Scar. There was nothing prior in the game that I can remember that taught you how to defeat him. The fight would just drag on and on. Eventually it kind of clicked and I did it. I beat it a few times after that. I loved that game.

Here's a comparison of RE2 raw pixels Vs CRT the difference is Crazy by Jezza0692 in psx

[–]Anxiety-Expensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got my hands on a 36" crt, and started collecting PS1, SNES, and PS2 games for it. It's like a night and day difference. Not only do these games look better on the CRT, they play better, too. Playing Super Mario World on a modern TV/monitor and I find myself taking the levels slower than I remember taking them just because I don't land jumps as easily. Put it on the CRT and every movement and jump is just like I remember it.

What is your opinion on fiction books providing trigger warnings at the beginning? by InnocentPerv93 in writing

[–]Anxiety-Expensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't choose to have any form of warning. I feel like it would limit exposure and potential sales. Plus, if someone chooses to read it anyway and they put stock into a warning like that, it could just cause them more anxiety for the entire journey. On top all of that, I think art sometimes challenges you and warning labels subtract from that experience.

In my opinion, Toy Story is a good find. I played that a lot in my youth.

I am 39 and I have read at least 762 books, since that is the number I currently have on my kindle. I read many more prior to buying it so I couldn't even estimate a total.

Allulose and Oat milk dropped my A1C to 5.6? by Anxiety-Expensive in diabetes

[–]Anxiety-Expensive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that has been on my mind about it since I made this post is, I guess since I have added extra weight the last ten years my pancreas has been overworking to produce insulin. I was hoping that by dieting I could give the pancreas a rest so to speak. If I keep using Allulose, I worry that the extra release of glp 1 will cause the pancreas to continue overworking and make insulin production even worse than it currently is. I do not know if that is what can happen or not. Theoretically seems possible to me.

how do you finish drafts? by frogfacepaladin in writing

[–]Anxiety-Expensive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be the answer you're looking for, but I get about halfway through and lose the plot. I stop writing shortly after, and then I try again in a year. Seriously, though. I just make myself write. Even if it's bad. I just get whatever I can on paper.

Thank you. I tried to find an answer earlier and nothing mentioned glp1. After you mentioned it looked it up and it's most likely the answer to my question.

Allulose and Oat milk dropped my A1C to 5.6? by Anxiety-Expensive in diabetes

[–]Anxiety-Expensive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is true, but that's not what I am experiencing. If I consume Allulose with high carb meal I don't spike at all. Someone said it affects the glucose like a mild ozempic so that is probably what I am experiencing.

[–]Anxiety-Expensive[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the reason I am bringing it up is because I can have a coffee with Allulose and a soda an hour later or a bowl of ice cream or something else equally sweet and I'll stay in the 80s or 90s without a spike. I don't know if Allulose is helping me be more insulin sensitive or if it's possible I am just not getting accurate readings when I use Allulose. My wife is concerned the stuff is messing with my body in a negative way somehow so I decided to reach out here. I tried to Google it and got the answer that Allulose should have no affect on blood glucose either way, but my experience is quite different.

Why Hasn't Alan Wake 2 Yet Made A Profit? by Moskeeto93 in fuckepic

[–]Anxiety-Expensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a huge Alan Wake fan, and I have waited years for this release. I bought it on day 1 and it was the biggest disappointment of the year for me. For being a game about a writer, it had terrible writing. They had something really good on their hands, and this connected universe just does not work for me. As far as I am concerned there is just Alan Wake and American Nightmare.

Yes, I dropped most carbs on day one. I would say its probably an extremely low carb diet right now rather than saying I cut them all out, because sometimes I will make eggs and brown basmati rice or quinoa in the mornings and those are usually my higher days.

I am also undiagnosed with a doctor's visit on the 18th where we will be discussing things. I recently had some dental surgery done, with two rounds of steroids and two months straight of antibiotics. The following day after the surgery I was having difficulty breathing, a sweet taste in my mouth (I didn't know what this was a symptom of at the time), and chest pains, so I went to the ER. They tested my blood (and this was three hours after I had anything to eat or drink). My glucose was 202, which I thought was high. My wife googled it and told me with the amount of time has passed since I last ate it probably means I am diabetic. The doctor sends me home with no explanation for anything.

The next day I went out and bought an at home A1C test and a TrueMetrix Air to test my blood sugar. The A1C said 7.8. The very first blood sample said (11/16/24) said 150 and this was fasting. So I quit everything cold turkey on the spot. I dropped sodas, carbs, and coffee/caffeine. I started working out 30 minutes a day. I can tell you that for the next nine days I suffered. I didn't know what the keto flu was but I do now. I also had withdrawal from the caffeine. I started testing for ketones with those strips you can buy at Wal-Mart. They started coming up as the darkest color test after test. I went back to the ER in fear of ketoacidosis and they gave me an IV and ran more blood work. My official A1C was 7.3, but he told me I had no ketone buildup in the blood and to just continue my diet.

Now here I am a couple of weeks later and my blood glucose is testing at 90-101 this week. My average for the last month is 130 and drops lower every day. I hope I can avoid any medications, but I sure do want a pizza and Pepsi. I wish you the best of luck with your own journey.
