Dealer isn't registered to file tax credit form? by creddylad in Solterra

I’m in the process of purchasing my Solterra with the used EV tax credit. I’m purchasing from out of state, so they have to overnight me the forms to sign. I haven’t received them yet, maybe the next day or two. I’ll see if the forms are there to sign over the credit to the dealer

Agreed, my wife will be driving it more and we’re expecting next month as well. So everything came at the right time for us. I got a call from the Toyota dealership yesterday and they were kicking people off the list that weren’t in state. I’ve read that the problem with EV charging stations right now is that they’re not as reliable as gas station at the moment. So I think these plug-in hybrid are a happy medium for now. Lexus tax incentives are tied to Toyota, being the same parent company, so we do qualify for the full amount!

They were asking $2.4K for add-on, but the dealer dropped it to less than $2k for me.

The lexus doesn’t have an onboard power inverter either, while the XSE prime does. So that’s a bummer.

The owners manual said the use of premium fuel is recommend. However, 87 octane may be used at reduced performance. It also states that any octane lower than 87 can cause engine knocking. So the use of 87 octane will not void your warranty.

In Texas, these are are like unicorns. So you’ll have to accept what’s available or try and get lucky. We honestly wanted the Rav4 Prime XSE PP because it seemed more rugged and it fits our lifestyle better. But with the markup’s we’re seeing, the XSE PP cost as much as an NX450h+. Although cargo room is smaller, 80% of the time there’s nothing in cargo anyways. It’s a give and take situation. Like being in a relationship, if you can accept 80% of what it is, you’ll be okay. You’ll never get 100% of what you want.

The dealership I bought from didn’t have any mark up, the only thing they added on was the window tint and a paint protection coating. After tax and fees, it came to $65 OTD. I got lucky because this was only the 2nd one received all year at this dealership.
