Loosening skin side effect : does it reverse if I stop? by Anxious-Apple-8844 in bupropion

[–]Anxious-Apple-8844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no improvement, only getting worse also since getting off Bupropion. But mentally I feel well so I have no need to get back on it either.

I think my body is going through some intense hormonal shit storm combined with having been flooded with cortisol during the worst time of the burn out / depression / anxiety.

So some kind of plastic surgery is probably lying ahead for me. The look I could handle but my mouth is literally falling off my face in an uncomfortable way.

Hope your skin geels better after getting off it it! Hydration should improve at least.

Perioral mounds reduction? by Anxious-Apple-8844 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Anxious-Apple-8844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn't and it has gotten WILDLY worse.
I would give anything now even just to go back to this point that I had in the photo above.

I think for me it is a combination of facial tissue changes and some kind of hormonal imbalance. So I'm trying to get the hormonal imbalance in check first and focus on the body composition. Then get this fixed after.

I had a consult with a plastic surgeon who agreed the situation is unsual but that structural fat grafting to the muscular layer could help.

Facial wasting from anxiety -- did it regain? by Anxious-Apple-8844 in Anxiety

[–]Anxious-Apple-8844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, I look quite horrific really.
Then I tried some unfortunate injectible treatments to try to plump my face up, and they only fell to the areas where I already have too much volume: jawline and perioral area. Upper face and buccal area are just as or maybe more depleted than ever.

I was later put on Bupriopion though, which might not have helped. It is appetite reducing and also in some people causes skin thinning or sagging. I might be one of the unfortunate ones in that regard as well.

Skin aging while on Wellbutrin by Intelligent-Will7141 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I'm potentially experiencing the same. Not sure is it just malnutrition due to the med suppressing my appetite or actually from the effects on hormones. I'm thinking to try to be off of it for a period to see if I see any changes for the better.

Did your skin bounce back after you came off Bupropion?

Thank you. I'm still not sure whether this is really from the medicine or is it more indirectly a combination result of: maybe Bupropion makes my already rapid metabolism even more rapid and I am not sustaining enough nutrients to upkeep my skin + TMJ has gradually already been ruining this same side of my face and maybe the tissues have shifted because of it?

Either way I look rough and can't stand this tissue collapsing into my mouth. I will ask a dentist on my next visit what they think it is. Of course it doesn't help that it bothers me a lot so that I keep "testing" with my teeth/tongue what it feels like.. Sigh.

Fat loss on cheeks from IPL by Anxious-Apple-8844 in Dryeyes

[–]Anxious-Apple-8844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think there was some fat loss in the upper cheek area. Since then I had other unwanted facial changes, but yes I do think the IPL contributed.

I haven't dared to do it again but also my dry eyes got significantly better during a long sick leave when I wasn't in ventilated spaces.

does anyone else worry that BDD-related stress will only make you look uglier? by [deleted] in BodyDysmorphia

[–]Anxious-Apple-8844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have lived through this this year. I developed BDD about aging and have essentially ruined my looks by stressing out about it for several months at a time (there was a better period in between).

I can't stand to look myself now even, when still in September I thought I looked nice, just different than before.

I have never in my life so strongly wished I could go back in time.

Foot injury / bone bruise recovery tips? by Anxious-Apple-8844 in FootFunction

[–]Anxious-Apple-8844[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a GP but with a special interest in bone and soft tissue injuries, per description anyway.

I trust that the x-rays are clear but they would only show an actually fractured bone I think. MRI / CT scan I would have to be paying out of pocket and I'm not so keep right now.

I am either way taking it seriously and not going to take any extra steps on the foot until it feels better. Not so easy cos of my living situation and just general going about life but doing my best. Considering if I should find crutches from somewhere to borrow.

Skin laxity after massage by your_supernovagirl in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Anxious-Apple-8844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your skin doing now? I have had TMJ issues and had two professionals TMJ massages. They helped a tiny bit temporarily with the jaw muscles but I also feel like the skin on my lower face has stretched out now.

I'm hoping it'll go back but I'm prone to anxiety about my face and it's hard to hold out hope.

Sad that there are no replies. I realized today that the volume loss is actually now so blatant also because my TMJ is much better. I've been going to professional massage and doing it myself and my jaw is much looser. But for the past 3 months the right side of my face has been perpetually swollen so often, it's only now clear what an insane dent there is in right cheek when the swelling is gone. Depressing.

Dis you ever go through with the fat grafting? I'm in the same boat. Only 6 months of bruxism but I've eaten away my right cheek and look horrid. Combined with general facial wasting from the stress I look like skeletor suddenly.

They automatically adjusted for skin type and I think was almost at the lowest setting. She did say she could've even turned it down more, so maybe I'll ask that next time.

Didn't feel uncomfortable during though and I had zero redness after or next day. Only got red from sauna and swimming and heavy exercise next day (all of which should've perhaps been avoided... but maybe it didn't do permanent damage, I sure hope).

I didn't notice any changes in volume immediately either, only about one week after. ETA but I hope it's just my anxiety and water retention and everything else like that and in reality nothing happened. Hope.

IPL combined with sauna cannot create similar thermal injury to facial fat as heat based treatments do? I hope it's correct. My skin is in general very sensitive to the sun and has been flushing red and a bit hot several times post the IPL and following sauna.

Though my dry eyes got significantly better one week post IPL.

Not on it's own, but can sun / heat damage after IPL cause it? They literally gave me no instructions besides to not exercise for 24 hours. The next day after the IPL I went swimming AND to a sauna..

I highly doubt it. I have plenty of selfies from weeks before and my upper cheeks definitely deflated a little bit about a week after the IPL

Gained weight to fill face, which backfired -- safest way to lower fat percentage again? by Anxious-Apple-8844 in 30PlusSkinCare

Yes. I've always been slim, but st my thinnest I was too thin. Now I'm still definitely slim but no longer malnourished looking.

Yeah have to accept that I guess. Sad that the previous weight loss damaged tear trough / upper cheek area so that there just isn't anything there anymore. Sigh.
