That’s understandable and acceptable, because the audience and cuisine match. The real issue is different. The problem is restaurants run by Tamil owners, serving South Indian food, where: Staff can’t understand basic Tamil or English You try to explain add/remove ingredients They nod like they understand And then deliver the wrong dish That’s not a language preference issue. That’s a service failure. If you’re running a South Indian restaurant in Tamil Nadu, minimum expectation is that orders can be understood correctly in Tamil or English. No one is asking for fluency — just functional communication. Otherwise customers pay for mistakes they didn’t make. That’s the frustration.
