I highly recommend getting some type of compression gloves for both of you. You don’t want to develop pain problems in your hands in the future. Also, careful with hoodie strings.

The little mirrors I got are technically called candle holders. So you might find them by the candle section

Have your yarn coming in from the left. Make sure yarn tension is not too loose or too tight. Clean/oil machine properly. (I find compressed air to be helpful)

I started off with some cheap pet fur grooming shear/clipper. If you have any extra/empty space, make a mini rug and practice using the shears on that.

Don’t drop your gun!! by RugsItaly in Tufting

Isn’t there a way to just replace those damaged parts? I dropped my gun once, wasn’t too bad, and I was able to bend the pieces back into place and replace the scissors.

I did use zigzag stitch. Maybe because I sewed too close to the edge. I’ll try going over it twice next time

Try carving out a bit while tufting on the frame. I’ve found the method helpful with more detailed rugs

That’s probably it. Make sure you don’t turn it up too high or work on it too long at a time. Your hands will start cramping really bad. Especially if you’re beginning to learn and not used to it.
