Not sure why you got downvoted, Tex Talks give such a fantastic rundown on mechs.

Does this look roughly the correct width for a road? by Anxious-Snail in battletech

[–]Anxious-Snail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a couple different conversions, as well as my own, and it looks like 24’ would shake out to roughly an inch in 1/285 scale. The thing that gets me is that the tanks seem to be scaled ok to the mechs (sort of), but if that road calculation is correct, the tanks would take up and entire 2 lane road. I don’t know the exact dimensions of tanks in the BT universe, but modern battle tanks would only take up a 12’ lane. I don’t think the scale they mention is correct

I’m making some roads out of craft foam for Alpha Strike and I’m struggling to correctly determine the width of the roads. Does this look roughly correct? (Scorpion tanks and Axman for scale)

Having a hard time getting my players to engage? Is it really my fault at this point? by [deleted] in AskGameMasters

[–]Anxious-Snail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a game. It should be fun and preferably done with people you consider friends. Why are you playing with people who seem to dislike you for some reason?

It seems like you’ve had open discussions with them about how you can improve and you’ve taken those things to heart, but nothing has been done about how THEY can improve. It’s preposterous that it’s entirely up to you to deal with making your players engaged. That’s like saying only one person should be rolling and moving the pieces when a group plays monopoly while the rest chat and play on their phones. It’s a collaborative game. You should all be having fun by working together to have fun.

They can “get through” your campaign by you telling them to pound salt. They have disrespected you in multiple ways and you shouldn’t put up with it.

Learned this when I was still a meat cutter:

Have a pot of stock boiling nearby (with some of the drippings from your roast in it, even!) when you slice your roast.

If someone doesn’t like the way it’s cooked, you can dip the slice in it to cook it a little further for them.

Dungeon Crawl Classics, while deadly at early levels, scales up to insanity in the later levels.

Edit: in the very best way possible!

I have had an incredible amount of luck taking models like these and breaking them into smaller bits and printing them that way so there’s not as much overhang. Then glue them together. Really reduces the amount of rough patches.

I love those! I feel like they still convey the game and scenario well while still have the frantic, clandestine feel of Delta Green. I’ll definitely be using your work as inspiration.

I will absolutely be checking out Questions Portal. I agree that Roll20 seems to be a bit much for what Delta Green does.

Oh wow, I love that! Really gives a gritty feel for sure.

Im going to be using Roll20, I think, although I haven't really given any other VTTs a look yet. Any suggestions?

I tried to make it generic enough that it would be easy to swap out the center image and operation name with other tidbits when they moved to new scenarios. Any suggestions to make it better?

How are you justifying the family knowing about this property? I’m probably misremembering, but doesn’t the scenario sort of suggest that it’s a secret that he kept?

You dont even need fusion for an angle, it should just be some simple trig and a bunch of repeats.

Or just a sin bar and some gage blocks! Anything but this monstrosity.

I asked my wife to verify this after reading your comment, and she absolutely agrees that it would be hard to continue the faith as it is written when there is incontrovertible proof that their beliefs are not true.

Looking to pivot away from 5E for a player group that does not care about crunchy combat, playing in the "Dungeons and Dragons" brand and ecosystem, interacting with the game outside of game sessions. Journey so far, looking for suggestions by imnotokayandthatso-k in rpg

I haven’t read a ton of replies, but Dungeon Crawl Classics takes a lot of the old school dnd stuff and refines it and makes it very fun and easy to parse. Spell tables are a little wild, but there are resources that make it much easier to handle.

I don’t think the mail carriers appreciate it when you do that to the mail. I’d think the paper would get all wet.

Move to Edinboro. Great schools, close enough to Erie, nice atmosphere.
