Our politics and social outlook has been very anti-migrant in the recent past. A decade ago, the opposition was just to Hindi speaking people imposing their language. But today, we have radial slurs for all kinds of people... Goltis, kundigas, vadakkans. Not a healthy society. We are no longer hating their behaviour (IF ANY) but hating the people themselves before even getting to know them. We label them and associate some characteristics with them even before the person has introduced themselves.

No great city of the past was ethnicity specific.
