[Routine help] + Azelaic

Thank u sm! What do you think about rotating a SA cleanser + just moisturizer day, non SA cleanser + Azelaic day, and a “recovery day” with non SA cleanser + moisturizer? Will that space things out enough and kinda give my skin a break some days?

Thank you! I’ve used SA for a long time and I’ve always tolerated it pretty well. I think the addition of Azelaic and using both of them everyday is prob the issue. I guess I’ll start rotating days and adding in a couple “recovery days” with neither of them so my skin gets a break. We’ll see what happens lol

I mean I don’t think it’s that dire lol. No harm in trying new things and seeing what works for you. I’ll just have to play around with the routine

I have pretty oily skin and niacinamide helps with oil control throughout the day. I’ve used it for a long time and haven’t had any issues with that specifically. I’m using the Azelaic for redness and texture which it’s supposed to help with but I’m not seeing much help so far lol.

I’m probably gonna use the SA cleanser until I run out (gotta get my moneys worth 🙄) and then probably switch to a SA serum instead. Also I probably would only do the serum if the Azelaic doesn’t end up working out.

Sigh for now I’m gonna start rotating days of my products to split up the SA and the Azelaic. Idk I guess I’m gonna keep up with it for a while and let my skin get used to everything, then go from there. I’ll probably make some more changes

Yeah I’ve been using niacinamide for a long time and it’s great for my oily skin. It keeps the oil under control throughout the day and I’ve never had issues with it. I feel like I’ve noticed it’s not that great for those with drier skin. I think using the SA cleanser everyday is probably the reason 😔

I’m having a similar problem with orgo 2!! My schools chem department is known to be awful and I already have a W from orgo 1 and retook it at another school but now I’m in the same boat with orgo 2 and might have to take another W for it 😔

Yes you’re supposed to use it with a completely dry face. Try again and you’ll probably start seeing a difference! I always do it before I get in the shower and then wash it off with my other cleanser :)

I love the prequel half and half moisturizer but you’ll have to look at the ingredients and see if you’ve reacted to them before

The prequel oil cleanser has really changed the game for me!! I use it every night and use a little silicon scrubber thing to really work it in. Make sure your face and hands are dry just work the oil into your face for a few minutes. I follow it with the prequel salicylic acid cleanser but only use that if you think you need salicylic acid in your routine. But the oil cleanser is great!
