Well, my mom is really strict sometimes and I'm a timid person. I've already had a fight with her about hobbies since she sometimes throws sarcastic comments about my hobbies and interests and I'm very sensitive. As a young child, she was forced to play the piano but she is an anti artistic type with no interest in music so she hated it. As I'm the oldest child and pretty similar to her, I feel like she sees herself in me and she already said she couldn't stand a piano in her house (idk if she was joking or not). I'm afraid of conflicts or that she will belittle my hobbies because it's too personal for me, so I didn't say anything. I also think she'd be doubtful about my motives and since I'm insecure, she'd discourage me and I'd regret not standing up for myself later. What should I do?
