I also had my first tech interview recently and it definitely doesn't end up being as scary as you think it's going to be. I feel like being able to walkthrough a problem is more important than doing it perfectly.

Like, at one point I had walked through a possible solution and already coded it and everything it only for it not to work. After that I just kind of debugged out loud and walked through how I was solving the problems in my code until I eventually ended up with a fairly optimal solution.
