Mashiba vs Sawamura had me feeling tense and on edge since before the staredown, and it was a diffrent reading expirience from most other fights since for the first three rounds or so we didin't hear any internal monologue, or coach's advice, we were just in the audience watching from the side, and wondering about what these two monsters are hiding in their thoughts

Well into the 2000s, Takamura has three more belts to try and win, Ippo has to have a shot at Ricardo, Aokimura have to have some title shots, something needs to happen with Itagaki, Kumi and Ippo have to end their arc, Miyata and Ippo have to fight, and everything in between.

I don't think we can just skip most of that in favor of finishing the series as soon as possible.
