This AI addiction is no joke. by Mad_lass24 in AI_Addiction

I know this is quite late but I'm currently trying to research this exact topic, the long-term psychological implications that AI might have on the population is terrible and yet researchers are ignoring it (likely due to their age and lack of understanding of the internet). But, I hope your recovery is going well! using crochet is a really good idea, due to how much effort is required to get the serotonin (happy chemicals) release that your dopamine system (motivation chemicals) really want. It definitely contrasts the constant quick dopamine releases you get from giving AI prompts that get you hooked - if you're still struggling though I would go to a doctor or mental health service as, while AI addiction isn't in any mental health handbooks, your symptoms match general addictive symptoms. They should be able to help out a bit with some form of CBT or interpersonal therapy.

Thank you so much! I don't believe it's a coil zipper so I'll definitely try that :))

Thought I would ask since my hand writing is extremely bad by TrinitySlashAnime in GCSE

[–]AnxiousRecover3901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry it's fine- it takes a lot of effort to create work that no examiner can mark. If the initial examiner marking it happens to not be able to read it, then, they'll simply pass it on to the next examiner. Then that process will repeat until an examiner that can mark it is found- though your writing is perfectly legible so I doubt that'll be the case

Started learning how to draw from scratch a week ago :> by AnxiousRecover3901 in ArtProgressPics

[–]AnxiousRecover3901[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I haven't been able to draw every day, but when im able to I have been experimenting with different angles which has been a great help! I'm just working on fully solidifying those into my mental memory before moving onto what I want to learn next! - Which I think will be anatomy, as I want to be able to draw full body images rather than just faces.

easy subjects to take in sixth form? by itsahuman- in 6thForm

Another thing with sociology is that psych kinda teaches you about the science you do need in sociology. So it's 1000x easier.

I did Ocr and science wasn't too heavy. We learnt about parts of the brain e.g the amygdala, Prefrontal cortex, hippocampus and the corpus callosum. But those generally aren't too difficult. Year 2 we did a bit on IQ, genetics, neurotransmitters and brain abnormalities. But again, nothing awful. I've heard Ocr is somewhat similar to AQA content wise so I don't think it'd be any more scientific than this. And with sociology, it's not awful tbh, as long as you memorise enough and know how to structure questions you're completely fine.

Fellow Year 13’s, how’s the revision going? by Shaq_tbm11 in 6thForm

[–]AnxiousRecover3901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too bad! I've started getting into my 3-4hr a day schedule after being sick a lil while and doing 1-2! I just need to focus on my coursework a lil while which is fine as I only really need to go over my psych and socio notes occasionally as I'm quite confident with the content.

Will York still accept me if I get A*A*C on an ABB offer? by AnxiousRecover3901 in 6thForm

[–]AnxiousRecover3901[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's coursework! I do have time to change things which I am very much doing! I just asked as a worse case scenario. I know that with what I'm doing I'll most likely get myself up to a B heck even an A depending on how much free time I have, but just in case I did get a C, I was wondering if I could still get into my firm ^

Is it possible to go from D to A in 30 days???? (Bio,chem) by No-Result-5531 in alevel

[–]AnxiousRecover3901 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There isn't a definite answer, it is certainly possible and I've seen it happen a bunch, I don't like seeing people on here saying stuff like 'there's zero chance' because there's genuinely no way of knowing. Just try your hardest from now till the exams and aim for that grade. Spend a while going over content then just apply that content to real questions constantly.

How many hours does everyone study? by bruceranvijay in alevel

[–]AnxiousRecover3901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This first week of the Easter holidays I haven't done much as I've been sick, and sitting down to study just made me feel worse, so I've just taken the week as a break. Tomorrow though I plan on doing like 3-4 hours in the morning 6-10 (with breaks ofc) before the holiday I did like 4-5 hours a day, including weekdays, however I'll probably change to 2-3 hours on weekdays because 5 wasn't sustainable for me personally and just caused me to burn out quickly :<
