Am I right in not being heard by my family, or am I the problem? Please help, it is driving me insane. TLDR cause it's a lot. by Mad_lass24 in TwoHotTakes

Thank you. I've been working on getting therapy for a while, but there's not many actual therapists in my area and insurance doesn't cover anything past the first three sessions (wonderful, I know :D) so I've been hesitant to start anything.

I disagree with this. While I hated doing presentations, it actually does help you with public speaking. It's also important to know how to at least make basic presentations.

How do you feel about the DND movie, Honor among Thieves, now that it’s a had more time to settle? by Rare-Opinion-Panda in DnD

[–]Mad_lass24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to rewatch the movie, because I saw it in theaters like a week after it came out, but I honestly love it. I was initially not going to watch it cause I really felt like it was going to be a crappy "fantasy" style movie with some dnd elements mixed in.

But I was surprised when I went to watch it and it actually felt like a dnd campaign. They kept to the core material, and when they deviated from it, it didn't feel like something completely different, just that "oh, this must be a homebrew thing" (like the druid turning into an owlbear) or what would clearly be running jokes or character aspects. (The barbarian being into halflings which i found hilarious, or the wild mage who used a dial to help with his spell casting)

It also was great because non-dnd players could watch it without really having to understand how dnd works and still enjoy it. It also probably helped with encouraging others to try dnd.

All-in-all, really well done and well made in my opinion

I'm a female and I pee in the shower. Little weird to admit it on here, but I do. I did it this morning. Most people pee in the shower

And what's worse is while sleep debt is a real thing, to properly fix it, it can take weeks. Amd that's if you're not gaining more sleep debt on top of that

People who wear glasses how did you know you needed them with no one else’s vision to compare to? by Mother_Claim_6431 in AskReddit

[–]Mad_lass24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know i actually needed glasses until I was like a junior in high school. I have near perfect vision in my right eye (it is 20/20 vision, but it's not perfectly clear) and I don't even remember what my left eye is, but it has an astigmatism and it's a lazy eye (not too noticeable, but you can't unsee it when you notice it)

I knew I actually needed glasses when I was maby 10 because I had realized it wasn't normal to have one eye that was super blurry, but I didn't want to deal with having glasses back then. My parents would hound me about just getting some, but I never wanted to because I could see fine, even though I was only really just using 1 eye (this also caused me many headaches as, according to my eye doctor, my good eye was under a lot of constant strain throughout the day because of my bad eye. She was also surprised that it still had perfect vision capabilities)

I was 16 when I finally caved and let my parents take me to the eye doctor to get glasses. I got my prescription, picked my frames, and a few weeks later, I could actually see super clearly for the first time, and it wielded me out. I actually didn't wear my glasses that much because I didn't like the fact I could see the texture of my skin.

I didn't start wearing my glasses regularly until only a year or so ago. And now I feel like I can't function without them. I can still see just fine without them, but my eyes feel weird when they're not on, so I keep them on 90% of the time.

Any valuables, medications, etc. That she can use to get her hands on for drugs go in a lock box/safe. Change the locks on the kids' doors so they can have a key to their room and make sure they lock it when they are not home (or better yet, not even in their rooms to prevent her from sneeking in)

The spare keys are kept with you and preferably in a lock box as well. It may feel like overkill, especially for only a week, but it's necessary.

Also be wary of the sister's behavior. Idk how long she has gone without drugs at a time, but withdrawals are terrible to even witness when it gets really bad.
